Kurse is a male comic supervillain that features in Marvel Comics.

Kurse in Thor v1 #363.

Malekith the Accursed later stripped Algrim the Strong of his power and took him to Nastrond Prison where he placed the power on the captive Dark Elf Waziria turning her into the new Kurse. (Mighty Thor v2 #14)

  • Kurse was created by Walter Simonson where me made his first appearance as Algrim in Thor v1 #347 (September, 1984) and made a cameo appearance as Kurse in Secret Wars II v1 #4 (October, 1985) and a full appearance as Kurse in Power Pack v1 #18 (January, 1986).

Alternate Versions

  • In Infinity Wars: Iron Hammer v1 #1 (2018), an alternate world was created when Gamora using the Infinity Stones used its powers to merge various individuals with one another leading to Iron Man along with Thor combined into a single entity that had his own unique backstory. On this world, the character was fused with the Crimson Dynamo with the two becoming the Krimsom Kurse.

In other media

Films

  • In Thor: The Dark World, Algrim was introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe where in the movie he was an antagonist. It was shown that the Dark Elves had special warriors known as the Kursed that were augmented in power through a special stone that gave them increased strength and endurance. During the first war with Asgard, this warrior was killed and the remnants of the Dark Elves hid in deep space. Algrim was among the warriors and he was given the stone where he became the latest member of the Kursed.

  • In Marvel: Avengers Alliance, Kurse appeared as an antagonist in the setting of the Facebook video game.
  • In Marvel: War of Heroes, Kurse appeared as a playable card in the video game.
