Labyrinth (Greek Myth)

In Greek mythology, the Labyrinth was a gigantic and incredibly complex maze, created by the genius Daedalus. The monstrous half-man, half-bull creature known as the Minotaur was imprisoned within it. Located on the island of Minos, Theban youths who were given to that kingdom as tribute were sent into the Labyrinth, whereupon they were tracked down, killed, and eaten by the savage monster.

A hero, Theseus, thanks to the help of the Minoan king's daughter, managed to find his way through the maze, slay the Minotaur, and find his way back out.
