History

Origin

The Manhunters were a race of androids that were created by the Guardians of the Universe.

Around 3.5 billion years ago, the Guardians formed a plan to bring order to the universe and with the power inherent in their bodies they created a corps of androids that they called the Manhunters. (Millennium v1 #1) The mechanical androids were both based on and named after the Manhunter police officers from the Green Martian civilization. (Martian Manhunter v2 #21) The Guardians then dispatched their new instruments out into the most savage and hostile sectors of the far-flung universe. This corps of android warriors performed their duty precisely as expected for many millennia where they rooted out evil in the cosmos. (Secret Origins v2 #22)

Later on, the demonic Five Inversions came to establish the Empire of Tears] with the Guardians dispatching the Manhunters against this foe. (Red Lanterns v1 #0)

Billions of years ago, the Manhunters were deployed to Maltus when a group of five thieves came to steal several important items from the vault located there. The androids were able to kill one of the perpetrators named Chattle but his four comrades managed to escape where they used a map that once belonged to Krona to take them to a hidden treasure located on the planet Okaara in the Vega system. The Guardians looked to re-acquire one of the stolen items that was a box that contained the fear entity Parallax which they deemed too dangerous to be out in the open. Thus, they accompanied the Manhunters to Okaara only to arrive as two of the thieves were battling over a Central Power Battery containing the orange light of avarice. Attempts to stop them were stopped with several Manhunters being destroyed by the rampaging energy from the battle. Ultimately, a victor emerged in the fight between the thieves with this being Larfleeze who was overwhelmed by the avarice from the Power Battery. The Guardians then forged a treaty with him where in exchange for the box containing Parallax they would allow Larfleeze to remain undisturbed in the Vega system so long as he did not venture out its confines with him agreeing to these terms. (Green Lantern v4 #41)

Around 1,346.72 years, a Manhunter managed to pierce the veil around the dark planet Apokolips and attempted to apply Oan law. The unit encountered resistance from the native Apokolipitans where it was destroyed by the lowlies. (Green Lantern 80-Page Giant v1 #3)

The resultant 'glitch' in the Manhunters programming caused them to conclude that for order to be maintained then life had to be eradicated. Thus, they were responsible for the resultant Massacre of Sector 666 where they annihilated many worlds and killed trillions of sentient beings. Only five survivors came to escape the Manhunters rampage with these becoming the Five Inversions who were a terrorist cell that included Atrocitus that were bent on the destruction of the Guardians of the Universe. (Green Lantern v4 #33)

After one a half billion years, the androids turned against their creators for reasons unknown to the Oans who attributed to either contact to alien environments or perhaps a design flaw. Regardless, they were stripped of their power and later went to using living beings instead but the machines refused to accept defeat. Instead, they sought revenge where they went into hiding and began experimenting on themselves to recreate their former power through alternate sources. (Millennium v1 #1)

Among the worlds that they settled on and hid their existence was a planet called Orinda. (Justice League of America v1 #141)

Millennium

Kyle Rayner vs. the Manhunters in Green Lantern v3 #131.

Several decades ago, the Manhunters on Krypton learned from observing Jor-El that the planet was doomed. They saw a birthing matrix containing Jor-El's son Kal-El being sent to Earth and tried to accept it. The acquisition of the last Kryptonian would tip the balance between the Manhunters conflict with the Guardians, but the Guardians sent the Green Lantern Corps to battle the Manhunters. The Manhunters prevailed, but did not get the matrix. A Manhunter agent tracked the matrix to Smallville and killed the local doctor Whitney where the machine took his place in the community. He delivered every baby in Smallville and implanted them with microscopic inducers so they could one day be activated as Manhunter sleeper agents. (Adventures of Superman v1 #436)

One of their schemes involved the framing of Green Lantern Hal Jordan for the destruction of the planet Orinda. In reality, the planet's destruction was simply an illusion designed to discredit the Green Lantern. At this time, the Manhunter Mark Shaw was dispatched to capture Jordan for trial and he battled the Justice League. (Justice League of America v1 #140) Their true nature was revealed when their world of Orinda was unmasked as still existing and their mechanical nature revealed to Mark Shaw who broke away from the cult after seeing their deception. (Justice League of America v1 #141)

The android Whitney activated the Manhunter sleepers in Smallville. Superman came to Smallville after Manhunter Lana Lang tried to expose his secret identity and the Manhunters captured him. Superman broke free, and Whitney self-destructed rather than let Superman apprehend him. (Adventures of Superman v1 #436) A Manhunter sleeper agent attacked the JLA Watchtower, but was defeated when Jesse Quick reprogrammed him. (Flash v2 #140)

Some years ago, an inactive Manhunter was discovered by an advanced life form and stored on-board for study. The vessel was then abandoned after collision with a comet whereupon the android reactivated and began to repair itself. It then accessed the ships mainframe thus merging with its technology and becoming self-aware in the process. With this new awareness and technology, the Manhunter went about finding other of its kind and began to similarly upgrade them. They became a single consciousness that looked to evolve even further where they sought a Green Lantern Power Ring to fuel their transformation. (Green Lantern v3 #130) A Manhunter android kept as a trophy piece later came to reactivate itself and attacked the last Green Lantern Kyle Rayner who was forced to decapitate the robot. (Green Lantern v3 #117) The evolved Manhunters came to track down and abduct Kyle Rayner where they used a techno virus and as well as implants in an attempt to harness his Power Ring. (Green Lantern v3 #130)

New Grandmaster

Though presumed destroyed as a result of the earlier conflict, the Manhunters were eventually found by the Cyborg Superman who became their new Grandmaster. Located on the secret world of Biot, they slowly began to make attempts at rebuilding and gaining their vengeance. (Green Lantern v4 #12)

On Earth, the military conducted a secret experiment on the crashed remains of Abin Sur's ship with the aim of using its advanced propulsion system but their attempts led to failure. However, an opportunity arose when a damaged deactivated Manhunter was discovered in the swamps of Lousiana Bayou. Studying the machine, they managed to reverse engineer its propulsion system and created the X-2020 jet fighter with the alien technology. (Green Lantern v4 #3) The crash of the fighter led to the discovery of the alien influence and the presence of the reborn Green Lantern Hal Jordan led to the reactivation of the damaged Manhunter. The return of the malfunctioning android led to the Manhunters sending another unit which attacked Hal Jordan whereupon proclaimed that it along with its brethren were taking over Space Sector 2814. (Green Lantern v4 #1) During the fight, the damaged android managed to escape and as the active Manhunter was being impeded by Jordan it led to the unit using its internal power battery to drain his power battery of its charge. It was then that Hal Jordan learnt of the alien involvement in the X-2020 and fought to stop the damaged Manhunter from its destruct mechanism from being activated but failed. Devoid of his power rings energy, he damaged the active android and used its battery to restore his energy whereupon he destroyed the unit. Once repowered, he took the malfunctioning Manhunter into space to dissipate its explosion where the dying android expressed fear as well as feelings of sentience as it approached its destruction. On the planet Biot, the Manhunters later reported to the Grandmaster of the return of the Green Lantern Corps. (Green Lantern v4 #3) The Manhunter sent after Green Lantern had his remains kept under lock and key in Hangar 44. (Green Lantern v4 #6)

Tomar-Tu managed to escape from Biot and headed to Oa to request for help to save his comrades after which he collapsed unconscious. Hal Jordan then requested the Guardians for a strike force to be sent to the Manhunter homeworld to rescue the Lost Lanterns. However, the Oans refused his request leading to the Green Lantern of Sector 2814 going rogue and conducting a rescue mission along with Guy Gardner. Their arrival was detected by the Manhunters who attacked them leading to the Green Lanterns encountering Hank Henshaw. (Green Lantern v4 #11)

With the rebirth of the multiverse following the Infinite Crisis, the Anti-Monitor was reborn as well, reconstructed by the Manhunters at the order of Sinestro. (Tales of the Sinestro Corps: Superman-Prime v1 #1) Later on, Hank Henshaw was freed from Oa by the Sinestro Corps with the Manhunters coming to be the Yellow Lanterns ally. This saw them participating in the Sinestro Corps War that was a massive offensive against the Green Lanterns. (Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps Special v1 #1) A Manhunter accompanied Sinestro Corps soldier Karu-Sil as she traveled the space sectors and picked off Green Lanterns one by one. (Green Lantern v4 #21) The Cyborg-Superman had a number of his Manhunters complete the completion of Warworld so that the Anti-Monitor could claim his new home. On Qward, the Parallax-possessed Kyle Rayner battered Hal, promising him he would feel the same fear his father felt before he died. The Manhunters and the Sinestro Corps joined the battle, threatening to overwhelm Hal. Parallax told him the Green Lantern Corps despised him and had abandoned him, but just then the Lost Lanterns appeared, with Ke’Haan telling Parallax that although they hated Hal they’d never abandon a fellow Lantern. Parallax killed Jack T. Chance, and Hal and the remaining Lost Lanterns retreated to Qward’s underground catacombs. The Manhunters and the Sinestro Corps failed in keeping Ion imprisoned, the willpower entity was freed by Hal Jordan and the Lost Lanterns and returned to Oa. Cyborg and the Manhunters announced to Sinestro that Warworld was ready, and waiting to attack the Sinestro Corps next target which was Earth. (Green Lantern v4 #23)

The Manhunters were aboard the sentient planet Ranx when the planet and the Corps attacked Mogo, knowing the GLC would not long survive without Mogo to direct power rings to worthy recipients and to mentally train new recruits. Ranx ripped a hole in Mogo’s surface and sent in the Children of the White Lobe, the Sinestro Corps latest allies, so they could explode and destroy the power ring at Mogo’s core. The GLC disabled the Children, and the Manhunters fail to prevent corpsman Sodam Yat from destroying Ranx’ brain and exploding the sentient planet. (Green Lantern Corps v2 #16) Warworld approached Earth, and Sinestro laid out his plan of disabling the Justice League of America to Cyborg-Superman, and tried to get a rise out of him by mentioning the possibility of an encounter with Superman. Cyborg just mused that he was long past taunts, or wanting revenge, and he looked forward to pursuing his agenda of the end of all life and betraying Sinestro. The Manhunters attacked the Justice League satellite while Cyborg hooked into its defense system and made it inoperative, and Warworld entered Earth’s orbit. (Tales of the Sinestro Corps: Cyborg-Superman v1 #1) Sinestro communicated with Hal via his power ring as the Sinestro Corps invaded Earth. He intended to conquer the planet, making it a symbol of the Sinestro Corp’s power and their ability to control any planet. He intended to makes saves of the Earthlings, and execute anyone who did not submit. The Manhunters and their fellow Sinestro Corps soldiers wrecked havoc on Earth, but were staved off by the GLC and an army of Earth’s heroes. (Green Lantern v4 #24)

Manhunters and the Sinestro Corps continued to wage war on Earth while Hal and Kyle went to Coast City to protect it from Sinestro, and Hal issued a radio broadcast asking the residents to flee. Not a soul left, everyone had faith Hal would save them from Sinestro. Sinestro and a number of his soldiers engaged Hal and Kyle, and Sinestro told them he’d already won the war. His actions made the Guardians rewrite the Book of Oa, and nowe that the GLC could use lethal force they would be feared. Sinestro always wanted the GLC to be a more totalitarian police force to bring order to the universe, and he’d succeeded. Sinestro and Hal’s rings were both drained of power when they used inactive Manhunter power batteries against each other, and they squared off in hand-to-hand combat. Hal won, and told Sinestro he was under arrest. In NYC the Anti-Monitor tapped into Earth’s energy and prepared to unleash an anti-matter wave to consume Earth. The GLC ruptured the heart of Anti-Monitor’s Warworld, the Sinestro Corps central power battery, and created a shield around Warworld and the Monitor. The ensuing blast nearly destroyed the Anti-Monitor, and he was finished off by Superman-Prime, who betrayed him for having destroyed his home, Earth-Prime. The Manhunters were deactivated with the destruction of Warworld, and Cyborg-Superman’s remains were blasted into space. With the Anti-Monitor destroyed, Sinestro vanquished, and having no way of recharging their rings the Sinestro Corps fled Earth to lick their wounds. Manhunters found Cyborg’s remains in deep-space, and requiring a Grandmaster, they reactivated him. Cyborg shed a tear when he realized he was still alive. (Green Lantern v4 #25)

War of Light

The Red Lantern Corps were later attacked by the Third Army though survived the attack and Atrocitus managed to divine the creatures origins through his blood magic. Learning the power of the creatures, he determined that inorganic beings were immune to their assimilation and thus decided to travel to his devastated homeworld in order to reactivate a unit of Manhunters that he had defeated long ago. (Red Lantern v1 #15) On Ryut, Atrocitus awakened the sleeping army of Manhunters that he had kept contained on that planet but the androids attempted to eliminate him. However, in his rage, he managed to target and destroy the commanding Alpha Manhunter thus leaving the remaining units directionless. This allowed him to make the machines and using he magic he took control of them where he dispatched a contingent to attack Oa whilst the remaining accompanied him to Maltus on a special mission. (Red Lantern v1 #16)

After the disappearance of the Green Lantern Corps, Sinestro positioned his fear lanterns as the new peacekeeping force of the universe. To achieve that end, he had the Sinestro Corp's Science Division rebuilt and reactivated a legion of Manhunters to serve a supporting role for his forces. (Sinestro v1 #14) They were later deployed to Earth in the battle against the anti-emotion cult known as the Paling and targeted their leader the Pale Bishop. During the battle, they launched Sinestro Corps Power Rings towards Earth in order to recruit new members amongst the planet's superhero and supervillain populace in order to fight the Paling. (Sinestro v1 #18)

30th Century

Overview

A Manhunter from Secret Six v3 #18.

In appearance, it was said that these androids were designed to resemble their creators the Guardians but possessed attributes that they lacked such as a larger form. During their design, the Oans sought to develop the perfect creature to serve as a warrior corps. (Justice League of America v1 #141) In many ways, the machines were designed to mimic the Oans to the point that an equivalent of the symbionts that resided in the Guardians were within the Manhunters. These took the form of programs that were tasked to keep the androids circuits alive forever. (Secret Origin v2 #23) It was said that they did not tire and could potentially outlast organic opponents. As androids, they were immune to effects that played tricks on the mind due to their inorganic nature. (Millennium v1 #3) The complexity of their intelligence meant that certain units were able to contemplate about life after death and even feel fear at their demise. (Green Lantern v4 #3)

Certain models of Manhunters had a Power Battery in their skulls allowing them to conduct a power retrieval where they were able to drain a Power Ring of their energy. This allowed them to potentially leave a Power Ring wielder helpless once all their energy was depleted. (Green Lantern v4 #3) Individual Manhunters also contained a self destruct mechanism which could be activated by the individual android or forcibly enacted. Once activated, a countdown began which was vocally announced by the android and detonated with such explosive force that it rivalled that of a miniature nuclear explosion. (Green Lantern v4 #3) As machines, they were immortal and able to live for thousands of years. (Millennium v1 #2)

There were a number of variant forms created from Manhunter technology which included:

  • Alpha Manhunter : a type of an android that had a command and control role among the Manhunters. (Red Lanterns v1 #16)
  • Supermanhunter : part of Project Kappa developed on Orinda that was a large android constructed with an armor made of Kryptonite with it being designed to battle Superman. (Justice League of America v1 #140)
  • Highmasters : these are giant Manhunters who are powered by Green Lanterns and possess the power of devastating entire planets.
  • Willhunters : a nanotech machine that infect a host body and transform it into a cybernetic Manhunter. (Green Lantern v4 #12)

The Manhunters had a number of directives that included:

  • "No Man Escapes the Manhunters."
  • "The Manhunters are a Myth." (Millennium v1 #1)

Initially, the race of androids were created to be surrogates for the Guardians and operate as a corps of perfect warriors. At that time, they were made to be a force for good within the universe. This was until they came to believe they were superior to their creators and revolted against them leading to their eventual banishment. (Secret Origins v2 #22) It was then that they found power by operating in the shadows where on many worlds they were regarded as dark legends where they operated on hundreds of worlds. (Millennium v1 #1) Through stealth, they remained in the shadows where they bided their time to enact their plans. (Millennium v1 #2) During this time, their code dictated that they should leave no witnesses that uncovered their existence. Such was their secrecy that they claimed that none had uncovered their existence in ten centuries. (Justice League of America v1 #140) They were known to eliminate older models and force their compliance by triggering their self-destruct sequence. (Green Lantern v4 #3)

In addition, through various means they were able to create sleeper agents that were deeply rooted to their identities. (Millennium v1 #1) These individuals were spawned on worlds and tasked with infiltrating organic society until a time they betrayed their planet for their Manhunter masters. (Secret Origins v2 #22) Such people were gathered in a group called the Shan that was known as the Cult of the Manhunters. (Justice League of America v1 #149) It was said that the Manhunters did whatever it took in order to win. (Green Lantern Corps v1 #220)

At first, the Manhunters were provided stun guns and a miniature Power Battery both of whom drew their energy from the master Power Battery. (Secret Origins v2 #22)

They were noted to had spent billions of years in developing a counter to the green power of the Green Lantern Corps. (Green Lantern Corps v1 #220) Later on, they were known to target Green Lanterns and use them as living power sources. (Green Lantern v4 #12) Manhunters were shown to be incapable of using a Power Ring to create constructs as they lacked imagination. (Green Lantern v3 #131)

One method of transport used by them were Transpheres that could be created through an adjustment of their baton's controls. This created a spherical container that was used by the Manhunter for transport allowing them to move captured targets. For escape, it had the ability to vanish into another dimension. (Justice League of America v1 #140) Another item was the Illusiotron that was a machine designed to create realistic illusions and could be used to make an entire planet invisible. (Justice League of America v1 #140)

They later came to relocate to the planet Biot which was located in Sector 3601 where it was said no life could exist except for the artificial Manhunters. It was said that this was the reason why they retreated there as it was a place where they would not be disturbed. (Green Lantern v4 #11)

Members

  • Mr. Smith : an android disguised as a male human who became the new owner of Ferris Aircraft in order to monitor Green Lantern Hal Jordan and attacked him during the Millennium event only to be destroyed by his foe. (Green Lantern Corps v1 #220)
  • Pan : a Manhunter came to slay the Olympian Pan and impersonated him as part of his people's plan to rule the universe. (Wonder Woman v2 #12)
  • Rocket Red #7 : Vladimir Mikoyan was a Manhunter disguised as a Russian member of the Rocket Red Brigade who joined Justice League International at the same time as Captain Atom as part of deal brokered between the Soviet Union and United States of America to give the League United Nations backing. (Justice League International v1 #9)
  • Manhunter Lud : a rogue Manhunter who came to Earth and joined the Robot Renegades, who sought to take control over all organic life and liberate robotkind from humanity. He, along with his team, worked begrudgingly with Doc Magnus to take down the Death Metal Men. His true motivations were revealed as he was reprogrammed as a pawn of the Nameless. He wore a patch over his right eye which covered the mark of his master. (Metal Men v3 #2)
  • Laurel Kent :
  • Manhunter 1988.2814 : an android that survived the Millennium invasion but was badly damaged where it was being studied at Edwards Air Force Base until it reactivated but the unit was targeted for elimination by the newer models of Manhunters. (Green Lantern v4 #3)

Notes

  • The Manhunters were created by Jack Kirby where they made their first appearance in 1st Issue Special v1 #5 (August, 1975).

Alternate Versions

  • In Smallville: Lantern v1 (2014), an alternate version of the Manhunters were shown in the Smallville Season 11 tie-in comics set after the events of the television show. These were bipedal robots with featureless faces that had four optics and had been created by the Guardians of the Universe long ago as their enforcers until they rebelled. They were defeated and abandoned by their creators who replaced them with the Green Lantern Corps. However, the cosmic entity Parallax placed newly forged yellow Power Rings into them turning them into his servants which he activated when Superman received a green Power Ring.
  • In Star Trek/Green Lantern: Stranger Worlds v1 #1 (2017), an alternate reality of the Manhunters was shown to exist in the crossover setting between DC Comics and Star Trek. Saint Walker later discovered a Manhunter crashed on a distant moon, with the age of the impact damage suggesting that this Manhunter was native to that universe rather than coming from the Lanterns' reality.
  • In Green Lantern: Earth One (2018), an alternate reality setting was shown that was placed on Earth-1. The Manhunters were machines that were believed to had been created by the Oans long ago until they rebelled and destroyed both their creators as well as their Green Lantern Corps. In the aftermath, they controlled the galaxy and imposed a reign of tyranny across many civilisations. Over time, the existence of the Green Lanterns became a myth with the rings being passed down descendants but none knowing how to operate them and no one had managed to destroy a Manhunter across these years. Hal Jordan, an asteroid miner who had stumbled onto a Power Ring was captured and taken to Oa, which the Manhunters had converted into a mine. Jordan was able to find the Central Battery and summon the remaining Ring bearers to Oa. By creating a controlled feedback loop between the Central Battery and their Rings, the Lanterns were able to destroy the majority of the Manhunters, although the surviving Manhunters still pose a significant threat.

Television

Manhunters in the DCAU.
  • In Justice League, the Manhunters made an appearance in the setting of the animated television series set in the DC Animated Universe in the episode "In Blackest Night" where they were voiced by actor James Remar. It was mentioned by the Guardians of the Universe that the Manhunters were created by them and predated the Green Lantern Corps as an interstellar law enforcement organization. The Oans believed that robots made excellent peacekeepers but later learnt that they were flawed as they were unable to distinguish between good and evil. As a result, they were banished from the Guardians service who re-tasked them for more simpler tasks such as guarding with them believing that the machines did not object to this new goal. However, unknown to them, the Manhunters held a burning hatred for their creators that extended to the Green Lantern Corps. This was because they believed that they had been denied their birthright namely the green light that powered the Central Power Battery on Oa. Thus, they secretly plotted their revenge and by the modern day had orchestrated a secret plot to discredit the Green Lantern Corps to force the Guardians away from Oa allowing them to take the Central Power Battery. This saw them framing Green Lantern John Stewart for the destruction of a world where three Manhunters arrived on Earth to arrest him. They faced opposition from the Justice League but when John Stewart arrived he willingly surrendered himself to them. The Manhunters took him into custody and escorted him to his trial that was part of their elaborate plan. With the Guardians attending the trial, the androids assaulted Oa in large numbers where they overwhelmed its defenders during the siege. However, the Justice League managed to clear John Stewart's name and uncover the Manhunters plans where they moved in to protect the world. During the battle, the Justice League and Green Lantern Corps managed to destroy many of the robotic warriors. However, one Manhunter managed to make his way to the Central Power Battery and absorbed its power where he became a titanic being of energy with this act stealing the green light from both the Guardians as well as the Green Lanterns. Despite this, John Stewart managed to absorb the power siphoned by the Manhunter back into his power ring by reciting the Green Lantern oath thus destroying the android whereupon he projected the energy back into the Central Power Battery. This act not only re-powered the Oans and Green Lantern Corps but ended the threat of the Manhunters.
  • In Green Lantern: The Animated Series, the Manhunters appeared in the setting of the animated television series where they were referenced in the initial story arc when its revealed that the Red Lantern Corps was created by Atrocitus after his homeworld was devastated by the androids. They made their first appearance in the episode "The New Guy" where they were reactivated by the Anti-Monitor to serve as his army. During a battle with the Anti-Monitor, Aya managed to defeat the titanic machine and usurp his body when she had cut herself from feeling emotions after being rejected by Razer. This caused her to take command of the Manhunters that she wanted to use to purge the universe of organic life at the beginning of time. At some point, she had uploaded a copy of her programming into these Manhunters.

Video games

Manhunters in Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters.
  • In DC Universe Online, the Manhunters appeared as antagonists for the hero side where in the setting of the MMORPG they were voiced by actor David Jennison. They served as allies to the Sinestro Corps in their battle against the Green Lantern Corps. A number of Manhunters were rebuilt into remote fear generators that were used to power the Sinestro Corps power rings.
  • In Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters appeared as antagonists in the setting of the video game where they were voiced by voiced by actor Fred Tatasciore. Similar to their comic origins, they were robotic former enforcers of the Guardians of the Universe before going rogue and being abandoned. At some point, they settled on their own homeworld known as Biot. The machines thus embarked on a campaign of getting revenge against their creators and their successors in the Green Lantern Corps. They were shown allying themselves with Amon Sur who secretly allowed them to strike against Oa where they intended to claim the hidden yellow fear energy located within the Vaults. A number of various classes of the androids were shown that included the Manhunter Ultra, energy absorbing Manhunter Tank, Manhunter Disruptor, energy draining Manhunter Siphoner, the serpentine mind controlling Willhunters and the gigantic Highmasters.
  • In DC Legends, the Manhunters appeared as antagonists in the setting of the iOS video game. It was said that they had been constructed by the Guardians of the Universe eons ago. After they rebelled, the Manhunters were discontinued from service but returned as foes when they fell under the control of Nekron. Among the types of enemy types included Manhunter Skirmishers, Manhunter Interceptors, Manhunter Overseers, Willhunter Invaders, Willhunter Sharpshooters, Willhunter Dreadnaughts, Willhunter Destroyers, Hopehunter Invaders, and Hopehunter Dreadnaughts. One kind of boss level character was a large Manhunter named Manhunter Zero.
