History
Origin
Markovia was a small country located in eastern Europe on the planet Earth. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #1)
The country was said to had survived Nazi Germany's activities during World War II. By the modern day, Bruce Wayne dispatched Lucius Fox as a representative of Wayne Enterprises for a project in the country. However, revolution erupted in Markovia with King Viktor Markov dying during this time and passing the throne to his eldest son Gregor Markov. Batman attempted to gather the Justice League of America to move into the war torn nation to stop the fighting and to save Lucius but the superhero team refused. This resulted in Batman quitting the team where he decided to rescue Lucius Fox himself and began the steps to form a separate superhero team that became the Outsiders. With the appointment of the new Prime Minister, the Markovian Washington embassy and the Los Angeles consulate were closed down with all contact by Prince Brion to his homeland being unanswered. This led to Batman agreeing to a mission to investigate as the nation was responsible for much of the Outsiders funding. (Outsiders v1 #21)
Post-Flashpoint
Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.
Afterwards, the Leviathan organization and its leader were noted to had purchased the entirety of the country of Markovia with its High Chancellor stating that they were paid in cash. (Leviathan Dawn v1 #1)

It was a country located in eastern Europe that bordered Vlatava and whose capital was Markovburg. The nation was ruled by a royal family with its ruling monarch being King Viktor Markov who was married to Queen Ilona DeLamb-Markov. The pair had three children with a son Gregor Markov and his younger twin Brion Markov alongside a young sister named Tara Markov. The queen's brother Frederick DeLamb served as the head of security for the nation. Markovia opened up its borders to Quraci refugees after their country had been invaded by Bialya and at the time the world was suffering from a Metahuman trafficking epidemic that led to the kidnapping of Princess Tara Markov who remained missing. Thus, King Markov devoted his country's resources into combating this scourge but was unaware that his brother-in-law headed a Metahuman trafficking syndicate in the country named Bedlam that turned Metagene active children into living weapons that were sold to forces across the galaxy. DeLamb orchestrated the death of the king and queen to institute himself as regent as his nephew was too young for the throne where he intended to persecute Metahumans. This was until he was exposed by his other nephew Brion Markov and the Team leading to his arrest. However, tensions at the time led to Prince Gregor having to exile his brother Brion who had gained Metahuman powers in an effort to stop his uncle.
