  • 1910: Real World - King Edward VII of the United Kingdom dies, and is succeeded by George V.
  • 1932: Real World - Paul Doumer, President of France, is mortally wounded by assassin Paul Gordulof.
  • 1937: Real World - The zeppelin Hindenburg goes up in flames and is destroyed in an accident at Lakehurst, New Jersey.
  • 1942: Real World - The remaining U.S. forces in the Philippines surrender to Japan.
  • 1950: Real World - The "Tollund Man," a deceased human from around 350 BC, is found extremely well-preserved in a peat bog in Denmark.
  • 1994: Real World - The Channel Tunnel is opened, allowing ground travel between England and France in around 35 minutes.
