Despite his reluctance, he decided to do the tasks assigned by the captain with the White Star crew moved from their ship along with bombs transferred to it. Afterwards, in the cover of night, Sheridan departed Babylon 5 on the White Star with Anna Sheridan where they made their way to Z'ha'dum with Garibaldi reporting this to Commander Ivanova. Sometime afterwards, the station came to be surrounded by Shadow vessels who planned to attack Babylon 5 if Captain Sheridan refused to join their cause. Garibaldi came to pilot a Starfury and was among the starfighters that launched to protect the station. At this point, Captain Sheridan crashed the White Star into the capital of Z'ha'dum where he detonated the hidden fusion bombs within it. The damage caused led to the Shadows pulling their forces back in retreat but not before one of their ships captured Garibaldi's starfighter.
