Heather Douglas

Moondragon

Guardians of the Galaxy

The Heather Douglas of Earth-616 was at a remote bar on another world having not heard from the Guardians in months. It was then that Bug informed her that he had seen her working with the team recently. Moondragon quickly learnt that the other Heather Douglas was a version of her from another reality that was deemed a more perfect universe with this one being married to their love Phyla-Vell. Moondragon came to resent her counterpart and believed she had taken her life with this leading to her falling under the influence of the Dragon of the Moon. She then orchestrated the formation of another Guardians team led by Gamora who resented Rocket for the seeming death of Star-Lord. Moondragon intended to use them to kill her counterpart and take back her life. During their battle, the other Heather Douglas managed to overpower Moondragon and defeat the Dragon of the Moon during their psychic battle. She then re-conciled with her Earth-616 counterpart where the two merged into a single being. (Guardians of the Galaxy v6 #5)

As part of the Guardians, she responded to an emergency of Hala that was the throneworld of the Kree/Skrull Alliance which had come under attack from the Progenitors. They arrived in time to aid Emperor Hulkling and his consort Wiccan against the invaders where they destroyed them whilst leaving one as a warning to stop their aggressive experimentations across space. Heather came to use her telepathy t probe the mind of a downed Progenitor where she learnt that someone had informed the giant creatures of Hala thus leading to their scouting of the planet. This indicated that a greater force was scheming in the cosmos and bringing chaos to it. (Guardians of the Galaxy v6 #13)

Overview

Personality and attributes

She was groomed as a candidate for the role of the Celestial Madonna but instead Mantis was chosen for the position. This led to Moondragon looking to foolishly prove that Mantis was the wrong choice and sought to do so by bearing the ideal child. To accomplish this, she spent months attempting to convince Wendell Vaugh to mate with her so that she could bear such a child. This was ultimately a disaster and Heather faced years of misery and she eventually decided to stop fulfilling roles others had set out for her. This ultimately led to her deciding to seek out things that made her happy and in time she concluded that this was her love Phyla-Vell. (Annihilation: Conquest - Quasar v1 #1)
