Mutants, also known as Homo Superior, a breed of humans born with extraordinary powers that generally manifest on puberty or high stress situations. Some believe mutants to be the next stage in the chain of human evolution, while others say they are simply a new branch of humanity. Mutants are the subject of social persecution, but they have defenders such as the X-Men, Magneto and his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Alpha Flight and X-Force.
