Biography

Darkwing Duck (1991)

While battling Darkwing Duck, Megavolt accidentally blasted him with his Tron-Splitter device, separating Darkwing into his positrons and negatrons. The positrons became the good Posiduck; the negatrons became the evil Negaduck. Negaduck imprisoned his counterpart and Darkwing's companions, then sought out Megavolt. He intended to destroy the Tron-Splitter to eliminate any chance of being re-integrated with Posiduck. In Megavolt's apartment, Negaduck tried to attack the villain, only to be accidentally blasted again by the Tron-Splitter. This "galvanized" him, turning him into a powerful negative-energy being. Negaduck wreaked havoc on St. Canard, until Posiduck was also "galvanized." In this form, he held Negaduck off long enough for Megavolt to re-merge them into Darkwing Duck. The Tron-Splitter was destroyed shortly afterwards.

Negaduck was the Darkwing of the Negaverse, where he rules St. Canard as Lord Negaduck and enjoyed the loyalty of several of its most violent inhabitants, such as the Negaverse versions of Launchpad McQuack and the Muddlefoots. No facts of Negaduck's past are given, but as a parallel to Darkwing Duck with various equivalent relations, it can be assumed his life has seen similar key points. (Episode: Life, the Negaverse and Everything) One crucial difference between Negaduck and Darkwing is that Negaduck has fully embraced his villain identity and permanently parted with his civilian self. This is why it took him a long time before he pieced together that Darkwing Duck and Drake Mallard are the same person; he could not comprehend that Darkwing would want to have a "dull" life too. (Episode: The Duck Knight Returns, Part 3) Years later, this difference became more pronounced when Darkwing changed his costume's turtleneck to a tie to bridge his two lives, while Negaduck keeps his turtleneck. (Episode: The Definitively Dangerous Edition)

On one occasion, Negaduck did all he could to destroy the city when he discovered that he was Public Enemy No. 2, rather than No. 1 (which was held by Doctor Slug). In his continued efforts to destroy Darkwing Duck, Negaduck gathered together the Fearsome Five, which consisted of Megavolt, Bushroot, Quackerjack and the Liquidator.

Despite Darkwing Duck's efforts, it's not likely he'll ever be rid of Negaduck. He has always returned, even from oblivion itself.

Overview

Personality and attributes

Unspeakably murderous, horrifically homicidal, psychotic, violent, and completely devoid of compassion and remorse; Negaduck is evil personified. He finds insidious joy in the misery of even the smallest innocent creature, hates flowers, and loves skulls. Like any criminal mastermind; Negaduck's schemes usually revolve around complete conquest of Saint Canard and obtaining immense wealth, but at the very top of his list is destroying his arch-enemy Darkwing Duck, or at least making his life as miserable as possible.

He was considered Darkwing Duck's deadliest enemy, for he has no agenda besides wreaking chaos and havoc upon.

Powers and abilities

Negaduck lacks any powers of his own but makes up for it with his sadistic temperament and penchant for destructive weaponry.

Notes

  • According to Tad Stones, the second Negaduck was supposed to be one and the same as the original. An episode explaining this was planned but never produced.
