Biography

Obi-Wan Kenobi was a Force-sensitive human male born a long time ago in the galaxy far, far away. He came to live in the time of the Galactic Republic where he came to be recruited into the Jedi Order from a young age. Similar to many younglings, he was discovered as an infant and taken from his family as a child in order to be raised among the Jedi. Eventually, he came to serve as a Padawan and was apprenticed to Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn.

At one point, he and his master were on an extended mission where they spent a year on Mandalore protecting the Duchess Satine Kryze from insurgents that threatened her world. This saw bounty hunters being sent after them forcing them on the run were they lived hand-to-mouth where they were unsure what the next day would bring them. In this time, there was an incident involved a swarm of venom-mites on Draboon where Kenobi carried Kryze to safety but ended up falling and dropping her causing Satine to get a scar in the process. In this time, he came to fall in love with Satine but despite his feelings he decided to continue with his training where he was re-assigned. Kenobi came to regret leaving her but decided to follow the Jedi Code where he swore to live by its tenets.

The 25-year-old Padawan accompanied his master as they were assigned a mission regarding a trade dispute on the world of Naboo. This involved the planet and the Trade Federation with a Republic transport delivering the two Jedi to the ship in orbit. The Neimoidians though conducted an assassination attempt on the Jedi and even sent their battle droids to attack the two negotiators. This led to Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi discovering that the Trade Federation were instituting a full blown blockade of the planet along with deploying an army of battle droids to invade it. The Jedi managed to escape the Lucrehulk transport and made their way to the surface where they began to make their way to the royal palace.

In the years afterwards, Obi-Wan continued to train Anakin Skywalker as he grew to adulthood. The two were then assigned as security for their old friend, Senator Padmé Amidala, after an assassination attempt on her life. After a second attempt, Obi-Wan and Anakin pursued her attacker with this being a clawdite bounty hunter named Zam Wesell. Following her into one of Coruscant’s seedy bars, Obi-Wan waited until Wesell approached him and severed her hand with a surprise cut from his lightsaber. The Jedi carried the wounded bounty hunter out into the street but Wesell was mysteriously killed by a poison dart shot from above.

The 57-year old hermit continued living under the name of Ben Kenobi on the outskirts of Tatooine. One day, he came to save Luke Skywalker after he was ambushed by Tusken Raiders where Kenobi used the fearsome sounds of a native animal to force the Sand People to flee. He then took the young man along with C-3PO and R2-D2 to his home in order to tend to Skywalkers wounds.

One day, Kenobi was visited by the Jawa Teeka, who presented the Jedi with several spare parts for a toy T-16 skyhopper. Teeka also offered to sell spare parts to Kenobi's malfunctioning moisture vaporator, but the Jedi realized that the Jawa had been stealing his parts and chastised Teeka. Before departing, the Jawa showed spare parts from an alleged Jedi starship that had crashed in the Dune Sea to Kenobi, who remarked that the Jedi were believed to be extinct. At night, Kenobi was haunted in his dreams by memories of Anakin Skywalker, Padmé Amidala, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Yoda. The following day, Kenobi rode his eopie to the Lars homestead, where he observed with macrobinoculars the young Luke Skywalker and Owen Lars from a distance. While riding his eopie through the desert the following night, Kenobi was confronted by the fugitive Jedi, a human male named Nari, who had managed to escape the Inquisitors earlier and pleaded for the Jedi Master's help. However, Kenobi urged the Jedi to bury his lightsaber and flee, much to the disappointment of Nari, who still believed in the fight—which Kenobi believed to be over and lost. At Anchorhead, Kenobi met with Lars to hand over the toy parts he had acquired from Teeka earlier, but the farmer refused to accept the presents and asked Kenobi to stay away from his family. After arguing with Lars about the future of Skywalker, Kenobi hid nearby as the Fifth Brother and the Third Sister arrived to address the inhabitants regarding the fugitive Jedi they were looking for. The Third Sister took a particular liking to Lars and threatened to kill his family unless information about the fugitive was brought forward, but the farmer stayed quiet until the Fifth Brother intervened. Afterward, Kenobi thanked Lars for not revealing anything about him or his whereabouts. Obsessed with finding Kenobi, the Third Sister plotted to lure out the fugitive Jedi Master and arranged for the kidnapping of Leia Organa on Alderaan. As she suspected, Kenobi received a distress call from Bail and Breha Organa, who pleaded with the Jedi to help retrieve their daughter. However, Kenobi—intent on protecting Luke and believing himself to have been out of the game for too long—declined the request. Later, after witnessing the dead body of Nari in Anchorhead, Kenobi was visited in person by Bail Organa, who again pleaded with the Jedi to help him. After relenting, Kenobi retrieved his lightsaber from the desert and headed for a spaceport, where be boarded a freighter to depart Tatooine in a commercial transport.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Obi-Wan Kenobi was a male human with fair skin who had gray-blue eyes where in his youth he had auburn hair that turned white in his later years. Whilst on Tatooine, he came to operate under the name as Ben Kenobi.

Similar to many Jedi younglings, he was taken from his birth family when he was a bit and thus had only few brief memories of them. He believed that he had an older brother but was not sure about this memory.

Yoda had said that he sensed Qui-Gon Jinn's defiance in him.

After the Clone Wars, he became fixated on hiding as the battle was over and he believed that his side had lost. Thus, he looked to hide his nature as a Jedi and did not use the Force as he looked only to watching over the young Luke Skywalker. This was to the point that he refused to help others even his former friends and allies.

During his youth, he came to encounter Satine Kryze where during a mission protecting her he came to fall in love with her. However, he stuck with the Jedi Code that forbade relationships despite his feelings for her.

Over time, he came to consider the young Anakin to be like a brother to him.

Powers and abilities

As a Force-sensitive, Kenobi was capable of manipulating the energy field that was the Force that encompassed all of existence. By manipulating it, he could achieve a number of feats both externally or focusing on himself. He was talented in the use of the Jedi mind trick where he could influence weaker minds.

As a Jedi Knight, he came to construct his own lightsabre and was skilled in its use. His first had a blue plasma blade and a hilt similar to that of his master, Qui-Gon Jinn. Obi-Wan used this weapon until Darth Maul kicked it into a deep shaft on Naboo. He then constructed a new, blue-bladed lightsaber with a similar design. After attaining the rank of Jedi Master, Obi-Wan built a third saber, also with a blue plasma blade.

For much of his life, he had been a member of the Jedi Order where he was recruited from a young age with him starting as a Padawan. He later came to be a Jedi Knight and proceeded to the rank of Jedi Master where he came to sit on the Jedi Council.

Within the Galactic Republic, he came to serve as a General within the Grand Army of the Republic where he commanded the 7th Sky Corps of Clone Troopers.
