Biography

Osiris was a male human Guardian who arose in the earliest days of the Last City. He was raised to life in the Dark Age where he made his way to the City in order to speak to the Traveler and learn why the Ghosts chose their respective Guardians.

In those early days, he came to study under the Iron Lords Warlocks Felwinter and Nirwen where he became to be a legendary figure alongside them though never joined their order. After the destruction of the Iron Lords, the Last city fell into chaos and turmoil with peace only being restored when a Warlock named the Speaker arose to power. He established the Consensus and the Vanguard where he placed Osiris, Tallulah Fairwind and Saint-14 as commanders in charge of their respective classes.

It was said that it was Osiris' desire for truth about the purpose of Guardians and the nature of Darkness that drove him to madness.

After vanishing into exile, a network of acolytes and admirers of his work emerged where they formed the Cult of Osiris which sought to continue his work.

At some point, he met with the other powers in the Solar System namely Mara Sov who was the Queen of the Reef and the Nine who ruled the Jovians. He came to make an arrangement with the Queen that included allowing his followers to travel to her territory thus allowing the Cult of Osiris to have a presence at the Vestian Outpost.

He came to theorise that certain structures on Venus were built by the Vex millennia ago and were tuned to react only to the presence of the Darkness itself.

Returning to Earth, he detected signatures from other towers on the Moon and sought out Eris Morn but was unable to find her. Thus, he went to meet the Spider at the Tangled Shore after he had found more of the towers in the area and lost several agents to them. To learn more, Osiris set a course for the Outer system and arrived at the derelict Dreadnought where he managed to reverse engineer the Hive's organic communication systems. This allowed him to learn more about the present situation namely how the Hive had fallen into in-fighting with Savathun having gone into hiding alongside her court after being hunted by the Black Fleet. These chain of events led to her sister taking advantage of the situation in order to launch a campaign against the Solar System. Returning to the Spider, Osiris learnt that the towers were known as Cryptoliths and were emerging from another dimension. Alongside his Ghost, he then went to learn more from an investigation at the Moon where the Warlock stumbled on a communion amongst the Hive with an emissary of Xivu Arath known as the High Celebrant. Interrupting the communion, Osiris managed to eliminate many of the Hive present except for Kinox who fled the chamber but was then confronted by the Celebrant himself. The High Celebrant attempted to turn Osiris into one of the Wrathborn by carving runes on either side of his face and leaving him as a sacrifice to Xivu Arath. To save Osiris, Sagira came to sacrifice herself but this left the Warlock without a Ghost. The loss of his Ghost drove Osiris in a rage and he attempted to hunt down the High Celebrant where he sent a communique to Zavala requesting the aid of the Young Wolf before he went silent.

Overview

Personality and attributes

He was known as the Warden of the Infinite Forest, the Phoenix and as the Vanguard Advisor.

He came to hold a dim view of the Traveler as he attributed the entity's presence being responsible for all the menaces that had come to plague mankind.

Osiris was said to had always been one step ahead of everyone else which was a trait that made him a leader among the Warlocks.

Within the Vanguard, Osiris was referred to had been similar to Zavala.

Ikora came to believe that his obsession would ultimately be his undoing.

It was said he was an egomaniac as evidenced by his use of Reflections of himself.

He was said to had taught Ikora Rey everything she knew to be a Warlock.

Powers and abilities

He was noted to have had a discourse wit Toland's on thanatonautics and what awaited Guardians in death.

With his power, he could tap into the Vex's Infinite Forest allowing him to foresee the future with complete accuracy. For this ability, he came to adopt some of the technology in the Infinite Forest and used them for his own purposes. Among these was the capacity of creating Reflections that were copies of himself. He used them to explore multiple pathways at once where they passed messages to one another that could eventually reach him. They were capable of hovering, melding and dividing where he used them to explore as many timelines as possible.

Similar to other Guardians, he came to have his own Ghost that served as his constant companion with this being Sagira.

He was noted for having created the Lantern of Osiris that was an artifact that aided in his experiments with time and could serve as a beacon in the timestream.

A group of non-Guardians came to form a cult that revered him with these calling themselves the Cult of Osiris. The Followers of Osiris were fanatical in their belief in Osiris but did not know the man himself. He created trials to test those that followed his path and if they did not survive then they were not worthy of continuing on his journey.
