Origin
Parademons were demonic sentries from the planet Apokolips. (New Gods v1 #1)
During a raid on New Genesis, Steppenwolf came to kill the New God Avia whilst her love Izaya survived. This led to him swearing revenge and a great terrible war was waged between New Genesis and Apokolips. Ordinary Parademons were used as footsoldiers by Darkseid and dispatched in waves as part of his invasion forces. However, by this point, he had bred them to be mixed with the genetic material of Doomsday thus creating Paradooms. These much more powerful creatures were unleashed against the Justice League where their numbers along with the ambush arranged by Darkseid allowed them to brutally kill many of Earth's superheroes. This paved the way for the conquest of Earth by Apokolips with the planet being stripped of its resources. The Paradooms were unleashed against Earth again when the Resistance made a bid to defeat the forces of Apokolips. Cyborg ultimately used Boom Tubes to force all the Paradooms back to Apokolips whereupon he generated a massive portal that ripped the planet apart thus trapping anyone left on the planet in another realm of existence.
