Biography

Chen Lu

When the Chinese pipeline in Transia was seemingly destroyed by Iron Man, the Yao-Ai Power Company petitioned the government to make a plea to the Radioactive Man to deal with the American super-Imperialists with Chen Lu agreeing to the assignment. (Iron Man: Legacy v1 #3)

During the Civil War, Lu who was in custody came to be transferred to the new Thunderbolts initiative that was to be headed by director Norman Osborn. This was a team of superpowered criminals who were kept in line with nano-chains in their bodies as they were to be sent into the field as special marshals to arrest those in breach of the Superhuman Registration Act. (Thunderbolts v1 #110) The Thunderbolts were then deployed onto the field to apprehend Jack Flag who had refused to surrender to the authorities. Flag used his skill and abilities to outwit the Thunderbolts where he managed to evade them but was left paralyse by Bullseye who had ambushed him. This allowed the team to recover the superpowered being and take him away to be detained by the authorities. (Thunderbolts v1 #111)

The blast created a reaction within him that threatened to cause him to explode though Chen managed to hold this back until Moontone was able to take him into orbit. Once there, he released the excess energy whereupon Sofen took him back to the surface. (Thunderbolts v1 #125)

He then experienced his visa being revoked and him being recalled back to China to aid in the reconstruction as well as defence of his country. Saddened, Lu wen to tell Songbird he news and confessed of his feelings for her before he departed on his transport. (Thunderbolts v1 #126)

He joined the country’s superpowered team known as the People’s Defense Force where he was dispatched to deal with an unknown force that had entered Chinese territory. This turned out to be the former Inhuman monarch known as the Unspoken. The team confronted him and were effortlessly defeated by the former Inhuman. (Mighty Avengers v1 #27)
