Samantha Carter is a female television character who features in Stargate.

Biography

Samantha Carter

She came to be given security clearance to study the Stargate that was a mysterious relic that allowed travel to another world. (SG1: Children of the Gods, Part 1)

Captain Carter was brought to the Cheyenne Mountain after the Stargate once again activated a pair of alien invaders kidnapped an airman. She was brought in to join Colonel Jack O'Neill's team SG-1 as they went to investigate the planet Abydos through the gate. This brought her into contact with Dr. Daniel Jackson who revealed the Stargate was part of a network of similar devices scattered across the galaxy. He also helped explain that the reason prior attempts at dialling other coordinates failed was due to stellar drift. Abydos was then attacked by the invaders from the Stargate with these being the Goa'uld headed by the Lord Apophis where they kidnapped Dr. Jackson's wife Sha're. (SG1: Children of the Gods, Part 1)
