History

The Serpent Crown was a mystical artefact that was tied to the Elder God Set.

It was lost for six hundred years until it was discovered by the Lemurian King Naga who found it in cursed water and used it to declare himself a god-emperor of Lemuria and a herald of Set himself. (Spectacular Spider-Man Annual v1 #9)

  • The Serpent Crown was created by Roy Thomas where it made its first appearance in Tales to Astonish v1 #101 (March, 1968) where it debuted as the Helmet of Power before its true form was revealed in Sub-Mariner v1 #9 (January, 1969).
