Biography

Sin Tzu was born in Southeast Asia where he became abandoned as a child only to be adopted by an offshoot of the Indian Thuggee cult. Once taken in, he was trained in the arts of philosophy and combat where he learnt his skills. However, during this time, the cultists were pursued by the police and thus had to hid in the caves of Chulan. Once there, they discovered that the cavern housed numerous scrolls that contained great military as well as mystic knowledge that dated to the time of ancient warlords. Whilst there, Sin began to study them where he managed to develop a mastery over strategy but also over the ancient practice of Mehta-Sua. This was a discipline where the user channeled their mental energy in order to enhance their own physical power and also allowed them to dominate the minds of other people. Following his mastery of these skills, Sin Tzu managed to form an army of dedicated soldiers from a number of scattered thugs and he embarked on an ambitious plan to become a powerful warlord. His activities often saw him acting through puppet politicians but his accomplishments included the conquest of the country of Cynna where he forced the entire population into re-education camps. Similarly, he conducted a brutal invasion of Unglong and enslaved thousands of the countries people and was also responsible for conquering large portions of Vet Nak.

Overview

Personality and attributes

Powers and abilities

He was once a great strategist, but is now out to conquer Gotham City. Sin Tzu is a tactical genius, apparently deriving much information from The Art of War. Sin Tzu has mastered a martial art known as Yanjing, which converts mental power into physical power. This allows Sin Tzu to be both stronger and faster than even Batman in physical combat. Sin Tzu sees Gotham as a challenge and attempts to take over with his genius.

Sin Tzu uses his mental powers to control the minds of Bane, Clayface and Scarecrow, who were incarcerated at Arkham Asylum, and convinces them to coordinate their efforts. Each villain seeks revenge on Batman in his own unique way. Sin Tzu then arranges for mass escapes from both Arkham Asylum and Stonegate Prison, releasing hundreds of maniacs into Gotham.

Sin Tzu allows himself to be detained and sent to Arkham, which he uses as a base of operations. After Batman defeats Scarecrow, Bane and Clayface, along with countless dedicated followers of Sin Tzu (also apprentices in Yanjing), he faces Sin Tzu in one-on-one combat. Batman triumphs and Sin Tzu loses his powers of Yanjing.
