Skaar in Skaar: King of the Savage Land v1 #1.

Skaar was the child of the Hulk and Caiera the Oldstrong with the pair conceiving their son during the Hulk's time on the planet Sakaar. Following Caiera's death, the Hulk departed Sakaar as he sought revenge against those that had banished him from his homeworld of Earth. In that time, Sjaar had emerged from a cocoon where he was the age equivalent of a human being in their pre-teen years. After a year, he began to resemble a teenager and in time he became an intelligent adult. It was during these years that he began to demonstrate his skill as a fierce and capable warrior where he became enemies of Axeman Bone. He later gained the power of the Oldstrong stone-like power that allowed him to draw on power from Sakaar itself and was seen by his world's people as a saviour. Skaar also began to show the power to communicate with his deceased mother's spirit but she became troubled by him becoming a killer instead of a bringer of peace for her people.

In the aftermath, he made his way to Southern France where he took up the name of Santos by the Pyrenees Mountains and lived as a hunter. During the events of Civil War II, he came to learn of the death of his father and was deeply saddened by the news. Skaar was approached by the Warbound who provide him with solace as they all shared in the grief over the death of the Hulk. He later attended the reading of Bruce Banner's will where a holographic recording showed that he had created blueprints that would allow Skaar along with the Warbound to board the Sakaaran stoneship in case they wanted to leave Earth.
