History

Spyre

In the aftermath, Revos declared that the threat of the Four-Told's launch was averted and told this information to the populace to keep them at ease. However, he knew that the Four-Told were still alive and only his closest comrades were privy to this information. Thus, the danger was still present with Revos suggesting that the only means of defeating the Four-Told was by redirecting cosmic radiation and using it to mutate Spyricans in order to give them superpowers. As a result, Spyre began the process of transforming its people though some mutated into more monstrous forms. These came to be ostracised by Spyrican society who banished these citizens into Lowtown and were considered by the populace to be villains. (Fantastic Four v6 #17)

The destruction of the Tower of Oversight led to the people of Spyre gathering in opposition to the Fantastic Four who had achieved the destruction of their society as stated in the prophecy. The Overseer came to battle Mr. Fantastic who blamed the alien scientist for the incident that transformed his family. An attempt was made to end hostilities with Reed Richards offering the Future Foundation's temporary cure that was given to the Thing. This was used to help revert people back to normal for a short time before they changed back to their transformed state. Such a cure was offered to the entirety of Spyre with many of its citizens taking part in it thus changing their society forever. As a result, the conflict between the Spyre and the Fantastic Four came to an end with the two parting as friends. The Fantastic Four's vessel was then repaired and they prepared for their return journey though Sky came to join them to Earth as it was deemed that she was Johnny Storm's soul-mate. (Fantastic Four v6 #19)
