Origin

For over a century, Tamaran was noted to had been preyed upon by the neighbouring home planet of the Citadel who attacked for the world's food as well as people who were taken as slaves. (Tales of the New Teen Titans v1 #4)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events. Around ten billion years ago, the warrior Tyran'r roamed the lands of Tamaran where he sought fame and glory with him killing the wizard-king Mrak'r. At this time, one of the first seven Power Rings arrived where it chosen Tyran'r to be a Green Lantern to join other warriors to defeat the mad Volthoom. (Green Lanterns v1 #25) Long ago, the planet was attacked by an alien race who came to be known as the Makers where they abducted one of the inhabitants named X'Hal for experimentation. These experiments tortured her and she was transformed into a powerful cosmic being where she destroyed the ship of her abductors. As an energy being, she drove the invaders from her star system and for that she came to be worshipped as a god whose worshippers formed the Light and the Fire cult which stretched across dozens of systems starting from Tamaran. She eventually came to learn that her makers once more returned and attacked one of the worlds under her protection leading to her in a rampage attacking them. The destruction caused ultimately destroyed the planet under her care leading to X'Hal secretly being ashamed at her actions. Thus, she decided to depart Tamaran and go forth into the stars with the majority of her people remaining on their homeworld. However, a small band of pilgrims decided to follow their goddess into deep space and sought to find her to continue their devotion to X'Hal. (Green Lantern: New Guardians v1 #29)
