Tracker is a male villain character who features in BIONICLE (Generation 1).

Biography

The true origins of the Dark Hunter codenamed "Tracker" are uncertain, as he blames both Roodaka's mutation Rhotuka and the Hordika Venom of the Visorak horde for his mutated appearance, never firmly settling on either explanation. Whatever the truth may be, Tracker harbors a deep hatred of both Roodaka and the Visorak that the Shadowed One has been able to put to use. In the Dark Hunters, Tracker came to own a pet bull-like Rahi with tracking abilities that complimented his own.

Tracker and his Rahi successfully located Roodaka after her defeat in Metru Nui, an act considered to be one of Tracker's greatest accomplishments. Tracker almost killed the duplicitous Vortixx there and then, but was prevented from doing so by three other Dark Hunters. Instead, Roodaka was persuaded to visit the Shadowed One on Odina to discuss her future.

Shortly before the reawakening of Mata Nui, Tracker was assigned to hunt down Makuta Spiriah, who was believed to have gone on the run from both his comrades and the Dark Hunters. However, Spiriah was killed on a secret Order of Mata Nui mission on Artidax before Tracker could find him.

When the Great Spirit Robot was critically damaged in the Battle of Bara Magna, Tracker and the other surviving Dark Hunters emigrated from the Matoran Universe to Spherus Magna.

Overview

Personality and attributes

Like most living beings native to the Matoran Universe, Tracker is a biomechanical lifeform whose body consists of both organic and metallic protodermis. He blames both Roodaka and the Visorak for his mutated appearance and harbors a deep hatred of both.

Powers and abilities

Tracker has tremendous physical strength, but his codename is owed to his excellent ability to locate targets of the Dark Hunters. Tracker often uses the tracking abilities of a bull-like Rahi he owns as a pet in tandem with his own skills when trying to locate elusive targets. When Tracker and his Rahi are together and are given a small trace of a target, they have been known to be able to track the aforementioned target across incredible distances. In addition, the horns of Tracker's pet Rahi can dissolve solid matter, useful for breaking down solid obstacles they may face on their missions.

Notes

• A fan named Austin Allen created the models of Tracker and his pet Rahi and submitted them both as one entry to the LEGO Magazine Dark Hunter Building Contest in 2005. Tracker and his Rahi were chosen as one of the winning entries, canonized by BIONICLE lead writer Greg Farshtey, and featured in the BIONICLE: Dark Hunters guidebook.
