Yetaxa was the former high priest of the Aztecs. While visiting the Aztecs, the First Doctor's companion Barbara Wright was mistaken for Yetaxa's reincarnation. In this identity, she tried to steer the Aztecs towards less bloodthirsty religious activities, in the hopes of saving them from the Spanish. However, she was unsuccessful.
