Biography

Victorious in Fantastic Four v6 #8.

Zora Vukovic was a female human born in the modern age as a citizen of the nation of Latveria. It was known that her father was actually a spy from Symkaria whose true allegiances were uncovered leading to his execution with his body being left in an unmarked grave. (Fantastic Four v6 #33) During this time, the country's leader Doctor Doom had stood down from leadership allowing a dictator to rise to power where he declared himself President-for-Life. Thus, the people came to suffer under the tyrant's hands and it was in this time that Vukovic's daughter joined the resistance in opposing them. One day, she witnessed a light at Castle Doom and went to see if Latveria's beloved ruler had returned. Initially, she was beset upon by Doombots but demanded to see their master where she met Victor Von Doom who had indeed returned to his homeland. She came to inspire him to reclaim his former position and reminded him that the people of Latveria loved him with them gladly following him once again. Thus, he resumed the mantle of Doctor Doom where Zora stood by his side as he reclaimed his homeland and dispatched the forces of the tyrant ruling it. (Fantastic Four v6 #1)

This involved using a variation of the Power Cosmic which was used to empower Zora. (Fantastic Four v6 #7) Thus, he had her transformed and imbued with superpowers where he crafted her the identity of Victorious. In the battle, Zora was deployed to fight against the Devourer of Worlds but Doctor Doom redirected her to intercept the Fantastic Four who were arriving in Latveria at that moment. This saw her destroying the Fantasti-car and battling Johnny Storm the Human Torch. Despite his skill, he was defeated by Victorious who then moved back to help her master against Galactus. (Fantastic Four v6 #6) She was then captured by Galactus who was drawn by the cosmic energies that empowered her though this was to draw him into a trap. Doctor Doom then unleashed his robots and array of defences that succeeded in capturing the World Devourer. (Fantastic Four v6 #7)

She later accompanied her Lord Doom during a visit to the Latverian Embassy in North America when her master detected the intrusion of the Invisible Woman. The building was then attacked by a higher dimensional being called the Cormorant though Victorious was told to stand down as Doctor Doom destroyed the target of interest to the alien being. Afterwards, the creature targeted the Baxter Building and levelled the entire building as it discovered Container Zero and incidentally released the Zero Force. This pre-primordial power threatening to consume all of existence with both Doom and Richards unable to stop its expansion. It was the arrival of Valeria Richards and her new tele-pod design that as able to use the Zero Force as a power source. This led to the creation of the Forever Gate that was a link to any point in space-time and the importance of this gateway meant that it needed to be protected from danger. As a result, Doctor Doom placed Zora in charge of the Latverian Embassy and represent his interests on matters relating to the Forever Gate with Victorious accepting the assignment. (Fantastic Four v6 #25)

Afterwards, her role as ambassador meant that she was to oversee the Latverian exhibit that was to take place at the local museum. In this time, Zora was tasked with ensuring that only the Latvera exhibit was undamaged and kept an eye on the Fantastic Four arrived on the scene. At the time, a relationship dispute occurred when Johnny Storm found himself torn between his current love interest Sky and his ex-wife Lyja. During this time, the museum was attacked by ULTIMATUM who were looking to smash any symbol of the monarchy as they wanted a world without borders or nations. In this fight, Victorious came to only devote her efforts in protecting the Latverian artifacts and allowing the rest of the museum to be damaged or destroyed. The attacks came to be defeated but the museum came to expel Zora for the collateral damage she had helped cause to the building thus removing her from the role as ambassador of Latveria. Saddened at her seeming failure, she was comforted by Johnny Storm who felt sorry for her but the two ended up spending the night together in bed. This came to cheer Zora up but she felt no romantic ties to the Human Torch who she had leave her bed chambers when she received a message from Doctor Doom. He had matters that required his attention in space and in that time he felt that Latveria needed a ruler that would command with his authority. Thus, he decided that he needed a queen and stated that Zora would become his bride with a date set for their wedding. (Fantastic Four v6 #32)

Afterwards, she prepared for the wedding though was ill at ease due to having slept with Johnny Storm the other night. Zora kept this fact a secret from Doom though he came to believe that her apprehensions were over the fact that she was not born Latverian. However, he came to assure her of her place in Latveria and that she would be a great queen to the nation. Later on, the Fantastic Four and the other guests of the wedding arrived in the country but per Latverian custom no one was allowed to see her before the ceremony. She later came to find that the Human Torch attempted to meet her but he was discovered by a servo-guard that attacked her. Zora managed to hack the robot to prevent it from alerting the guards where she told Johnny Storm that their night together meant nothing to her and that the marriage would be her service to her homeland. She then warned him not to ruin the wedding and later asked the Thing to give her away during the ceremony. During the vows, she could not bear keeping any deceptions and told Doctor Doom the truth about her sleeping with Johnny Storm. This caused him to lash out in anger where he used mass hypnosis to freeze all the guests in place as he sent his forces to destroy the Fantastic Four for this affront against him. (Fantastic Four v6 #33) Doom made sure to remind Zora that all the chaos that was happening was because of her as he wanted to his revenge against the attendees. In the midst of the fighting, Johnny Storm attempted to plead with her where she claimed to remain committed to Doctor Doom. However, upon seeing them together, Doom lashed out where he targeted Victorious only for the Human Torch to take the hit. Later on, Doom unleashed his Armagedron that attacked Johnny Storm and overstimulated his powers before the device was destroyed. Doctor Doom then called off the attack and revealed that he had the entire incident under control and that no Latverians were in danger during the fighting. He then had the Fantastic Four and the other attendees leave at once with the Human Torch and Invisible Woman offering for Victorious to stay with them if she felt endangered. However, Zora refused as she remained committed to Latveria with the heroes departing though during a press conference Doctor Doom called off any wedding to Victorious and said that it was simply a ruse to draw out the nation's enemies. Later on, he told Victorious to never show her face to him again and she complied by wearing a mask styled on his own as she remained committed to the defense of Latveria. (Fantastic Four v6 #34)
