Zuul and Vinz Clortho were the two loyal minions of Gozer the Gozerian. They are both classified as Terror Dogs. They were hairless quadrupeds with horns protruding out of the sides of their heads, with Zuul's being shorter because she was female. Both dogs had tails, demonic claws, and they stood on all fours.

They were lion-sized and looked and acted like mindless beasts, but they were actually very intelligent, with the ability to possess humans and being able to speak and stand on two legs instead of roaring and standing on all fours. Both Terror Dogs possessed two tenants of the Shandor Building, with Zuul possessing Dana Barrett and Vinz Clortho possessing Louis Tully respectively. They both went on a long journey until they finally found each other in Dana’s destroyed apartment, engaging in a passionate kiss after admiring each others appearance.

They then walked up to their destiny on the building’s rooftop and proceeded to have sex as part of their satanic mating ritual. Once they awoke, both demons walked towards two opposite pedestals, where they once stood as dogs. They raised their arms to the sky and smiled as they knew that the time for the summoning of their master had come. They were then both struck by two bolts of supernatural lightning, which they redirected towards the gates of the Temple of Gozer. The doors finally opened completely, revealing two pedestals and a staircase. With the ritual almost complete, the lightning continued to strike the two demons, making them thrash wildly atop their pedestals. They both finally succumbed to the storm and got on all fours, transforming into their dog forms.

Zuul wagged her tail, opened her blood-red eyes for the first time, and stared at her body, confirming that the transformation worked. Vinz sat up, also wagging his tail, and stared towards his mate, Zuul, before noticing the Ghostbusters, who were watching the whole time. He then barked in their direction and Zuul turned to notice. The dogs then roared at them from afar. Afterwards, they proceeded to leap from their pedestals up to the temple, where they lied down on two other pedestals. Their master, Gozer manifested beside them as planned. Gozer then walked towards Vinz and pet him while they both purred demonically. The dogs were eventually destroyed and Dana and Louis reverted back to humans.
