Biography

Origin

Gabrielle Doe

During an alien encounter involving an Aurakle that was a sentient being of pure energy whose essence merged with the lifeless body of Violet Harper, a young woman who had recently been killed. Reanimated as a fusion of alien energy and human form, she emerged with glowing energy surrounding her, speaking little as she adapted to her new existence. She displayed confusion but also a strange calmness as she moved with unnatural grace, unaware of her human past but instinctively radiating power that revealed her alien connection. (Brave and the Bold v1 #200) Halo became an active member of Batman’s newly formed Outsiders. During the team’s mission to rescue Lucius Fox from the villainous Baron Bedlam in Markovia, Halo acted on instinct and engaged in combat alongside the others. She projected colored auras of light to shield allies from attacks and to blind enemy soldiers with bursts of illumination. She moved across the battlefield quickly, using her energy to cut off enemy reinforcements while Batman directed her actions, her Aurakle essence giving her both power and adaptability in combat. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #1) She continued her integration into the team, demonstrating more versatility with her aura-based abilities. She created energy constructs in the form of beams to disarm foes and protect allies from gunfire. When faced with overwhelming numbers, she generated a blinding halo of light that disoriented enemies long enough for Katana and Black Lightning to press forward. She also showed curiosity about her powers and the world around her, often asking simple questions as she operated, still balancing between her alien essence and human shell. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #2)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Halo was depicted as a young woman with long blonde hair and bright eyes, her form being that of Violet Harper reanimated by the Aurakle. Her costume was a striking bodysuit patterned in concentric bands of color, each representing one of her distinct energy auras. The suit clung to her slim frame, with its radiant design visually reinforcing the rainbow-like powers she commanded. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #1)

In personality, Halo displayed a blend of innocence and curiosity, as her alien consciousness had little understanding of human society or customs. She often approached situations with naivety, asking straightforward questions and showing wonder at even mundane human behavior. Despite this, she showed bravery and loyalty, stepping into battle without hesitation when her allies were in danger. Her sense of morality was clear, acting with a protective instinct rooted in the Aurakle’s nature. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #2)

Powers and abilities

In abilities, Halo was a fusion of alien Aurakle energy and human physiology. This gave her the power to project different colored auras, each with unique functions: the violet aura for stunning concussive blasts, the gold aura for intense illumination, the green aura for healing, the red aura for destructive heat, and others tied to the light spectrum. These abilities made her versatile in combat, while her reanimated body granted her resilience beyond normal human limits. Her powers were direct manifestations of the Aurakle’s energy channeled through Violet Harper’s form. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #1)

Notes
