Magog satellite ship
A Magog satellite ship was a type of starship that featured in Andromeda.
History
The satellite ship was first encountered by the crew of the Andromeda Ascendant on the ruined planet of Birrin. Captain Dylan Hunt was on a mission to investigate the possibility of a renewed Magog presence in known space. Whilst on the planet, the crew of the ship discovered several satellite ships in low orbit over the planet where they were harvesting its resources and was escorted by numerous swarm ships. A single satellite ship was destroyed by the crew of the Andromeda Ascendant who launched a negative energy missile at it.
Background
Similar to the large worldship, the satellite ships were composed of planetary masses and were fitted with technology turning them into a type of carrier harvester craft. They were composed of small moons and asteroids with an engine and life support system installed. Despite their size, they were capable of entering an atmosphere of a planet and hovering above the land without any difficulties.
The purpose of a satellite ship was to harvest oxygen and food for the Magog worldship.
