Biography

Kristoff Vernard

In this time, he resumed his position as leading Latveria and took the throne as well as the title. By this point, his adoptive father had returned after joining the Future Foundation who had agreed to help him restore his diminished intellect. This involved access the backup of his mind located within Kristoff's mind where Valeria Richards used only parts of it to restore Doctor Doom. Vernard was then ready to abdicate the throne so that his father could reclaim it but Victor refused as he stated that he had agreed to a bargain with the young Valeria and went about helping the Future Foundation with a problem. A protocol was enacted whereby Doctor Doom placed all his knowledge and memories within his adoptive son. These were to activate in case Doom ever fell whereupon the hidden information would activate and give Kristoff his inheritance. (FF v1 #2)

  • Kristoff Vernard was created by John Byrne where he made his first appearance in Fantastic Four v1 #247 (October, 1982) and briefly appeared as Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four v1 #278.
