Her background is largely unknown, but '''Elle Driver''' was one of the six members of the [[Deadly Viper Assassination Squad]].  During those days, Elle was in love with her boss [[Bill (Kill Bill)|Bill]] and despised his lover [[Kiddo, Beatrix|Beatrix]].  Like Bill and Beatrix, Elle was trained by [[Pai Mei]]. However, during her training, Elle offended Pai Mei by calling him a "miserable old fool" and had her right eye plucked out.  Elle retaliated by poisoning Pai Mei's fish, thus killing him.

When Beatrix got pregnant and ran off, Elle was only too happy to take part in the massacre of Beatrix's wedding party.  After the El Paso massacre, Elle became Bill's lover and when it was discovered that Beatrix was still alive in a coma, Bill sent Elle to the hospital to poison her, but at the last minute aborted the mission, much to Elle's chagrin.

Four years later, after Beatrix woke from her coma and began her revenge spree, Bill's brother [[Budd]] came the closest to killing Beatrix, and made an arrangement to sell Beatrix's [[Hattori Hanzo]] sword to Elle for one million dollars.  Elle agreed and traveled to Budd's trailer with the money.  She and Budd shared a few drinks and she gave Budd a bag full of cash, but hidden within the cash was a Black Mamba which struck Budd and killed him with its venom.  Elle despised Beatrix but wanted to kill Beatrix herself, feeling she deserved a better death than one at the hands of Budd.

Elle almost got her wish, as an alive Beatrix attacked her in the and the two fought to a stand-still, till Beatrix fought to a stand still, when Beatrix found Budd's sword, and Elle gloated that she killed Pai Mei, and attacked Beatrix.  The battle ended when Beatrix plucked out Elle's other eye leaving the woman blind and screaming in Budd's trailer.

Whether Elle survived or not remains unknown.
