At the time of Alderaan's destruction, Willard had been speaking to Senator Organa through a [[Holonet]] channel, and he feared the worst for [[Organa, Princess Leia|Princess Leia Organa]]. He was relieved when she arrived safely on [[Yavin IV]] with the [[Death Star]] plans, which Willard was in charge of extracting from [[R2-D2]].
