He was shown as being a scientist who knew that Arthur Curry was an Atlantean and wanted to prove the existence of the hidden ocean living society but was regarded as a conspiracy nut by the scientific community along with the media. Shin attempted to claim that sudden tidal waves that devastated numerous cities was first contact and an attack from the Atlanteans.
