He hoped to control the [[golem]] they had found, but instead Vostok took control of the golem himself and ordered it to kill Harst, and the Quests. The golem threw a boulder at them, causing a cave-in that buried Karst as he tried to run. He survived and later returned, and attempted to fight Vostok for control of the golem. The golem knocked a section of the ceiling onto Karst, crushing him.
