He was tasked by the [[Red Bamboo Commander]] to hunt down [[Kane, Ryota|Ryota]], [[Yashimura]], [[Nita]] and [[Ichino]] after they became shipwrecked on the island, but ran into some problems involving Godzilla. When the Commander decided to evacuate Letchi and blow up the island to kill [[Godzilla (Showa)|Godzilla]], Yamoto went with him and the rest of the surviving Red Bamboo personnel in their ship, but died when the ship was attacked and sunk by [[Ebirah]].
