The '''Familiars''' are an ancient cult that feature in the latter season of [[Dark Angel]]. ==History== The Familiars are an ancient secretive cult of which little is known about except that they are involved in a selective breeding program of creating the next evolution of [[Human]]ity in order to survive a coming disaster. They were known for a secret involvement in [[Project Manticore]]. The members of the cult viewed the transgenics created as part of Manticore as abominations that deserved nothing less of extermination. For thousands of years, it was considered a tradition for initiates to take part in the ceremony. Those that survived this ceremony were inducted fully into the ranks of the cult whilst some failed and died.
