The '''Master''' was a being of pure evil created from [[Reed, Robby|Robby Reed]], wielder of the original [[Hero Dial]], when he dialed D-I-V-I-D-E in the hopes of defeating the villain [[Shirkon of the Many Eyes]]. The Master banished the Hero Dial to an interdimensional void, and slew his good counterpart, the [[Wizard (DC)|Wizard]]. He created monsters that battled the second pair of Hero Dial users- [[King, Christopher|Christopher King]] and [[Grant, Victoria|Victoria Grant]]- and sought to steal their Dials for himself. Eventually, the Wizard's spirit found the original Dial and remerged with his evil half.
