An experimental combat robot developed by [[Nova Laboratories]], '''Number Five''' was hit by lightning, which scrambled his programming. Believing himself to be alive, Number Five left Nova and struck out on his own, seeking "input." His journey took him to the home of [[Speck, Stephanie|Stephanie Speck]], who sheltered him as he discovered more about life (such as the Three Stooges) and mortality. Realizing that if he were to be recaptured by Nova, he would be disassembled- in other words, die- Number Five attempted escape. Despite the sympathy of his creator, [[Crosby, Newton|Newton Crosby]], Number Five was attacked by the military. However, by constructing a fake Number Five from spare parts, he was able to trick the military into thinking him destroyed. Taking the name '''Johnny Five''', he lived with Crosby and Speck on their farm. Some time later, Johnny visited New York City and his other creator, [[Jahvri, Ben|Ben Jahvri]]. After some adventures, he was tricked into assisting some criminals. Even though he was badly damaged, Johnny Five still managed to catch the thieves and redeem himself.
