'''Sesshomaru''' is a male anime and manga character who features in [[Inuyasha]]. ==Biography== Sesshomaru (Japanese: 殺生丸, Hepburn: Sesshōmaru) was the son of the powerful Great Dog Demon and another, yet unnamed inuyōkai known only as Sesshomaru's Mother. ==Overview== ===Personality and attributes=== In appearance, Sesshomaru's typical form had a Prussian blue crescent on his forehead. He also has two magenta stripes on each cheek and on the sides of his wrists as well as one magenta stripe on each of his eye lids. He tended to be stoic and hard to read where he rarely smiled with the few occasions he did so was for something that was not good. Jaken once wanted Sesshomaru to beat him rather than to smile because it was Sesshomaru's smile that he feared more. Sesshomaru believes that struggle is the only way for survival, and throughout most of the series, he shows his contempt for InuYasha, his half brother. ===Powers and abilities=== As a pure-blooded demon, he had inherited his demon father's abilities more completely. This allowed him to nullify demonic auras in an instant by touching the object that has been possessed. As a daiyōkai, Sesshōmaru had supernatural longevity where despite appearing to be 19 years old was in actuality over 900 years old. He could summon his '''Dokkasō''' (毒華爪, Poison Claws, "Poison Luster Claw") that were claw-like fingernails which could injure and even kill an entire group of thieves. One of his weapons was the '''Tenseiga''' (天生牙, lit. Heavenly Life Fang) which was a sword that can revive the dead. It does this by letting Sesshomaru see the pall-bearer imps that take away the souls of the dead so that he may destroy them with Tenseiga. In extreme cases, the Tenseiga also protects Sesshomaru from potentially lethal attacks. When in use, the Tenseiga has a blue aura. Later in the manga, the Tenseiga is reforged by Tōtōsai to become a weapon, allowing Sesshomaru to use the Meidou Zangetsuha. It is later revealed that the ability and the sword itself is merely a cast off of the Tetsusaiga; his father wanted Sesshomaru to master the Meidou Zangetsuha, then pass it back to InuYasha, knowing that InuYasha couldn't handle the technique himself.
