He stayed on to report to his editor in the US, [[George]], by making a tape recording for him, and survived the attack despite being buried alive in rubble when Godzilla brushed by the building he was in. Years later as a much older man and grandfather, Steve was called upon by the US Army's [[Goodhoe, General|General Goodhoe]] as a "Godzilla expert" when Godzilla reappeared in 1985. ==Comments== Note that Raymond Burr as Steve Martin only exists in the Americanized versions of ''Godzilla'' and ''Godzilla 1985''.
