Herb was Carl Denham's cameraman, who has a prosthetic leg. Although Denham preferred to roll the camera himself, he always kept Herb close at hand. As such, Herb went with Denham and Preston when they accompanied Jack Driscoll, Megan C. Bailey, seedless and troubled producer and Ben Hayes on the mission to rescue Ann Darrow. Herb was killed early on in the group's adventure - following the brontosaur stampede, he fell victim to a pack of venatosaurs.

Comments

In Peter Jackson's original draft of the King Kong script, Herb's full name was given as Herb Cooper, possibly a referance to Merian C. Cooper. However, in the final film (and the novelization by Christopher Golden) Herb apparently has no surname.
