Hunchbacked assistant to Henry Frankenstein, Fritz helped the former medical student in his experiments to give life to the dead. Fritz's primary purpose was to acquire body parts for Henry, assisting him in digging up graves. Following the creation of the Frankenstein monster, Fritz took great delight in tormenting the poor creature with a whip and torch despite Henry's repeated warnings. Ultimately, this proved to be Fritz's undoing. After being pushed too far, the monster lashed out violently and killed the hunchback.
