King Osric was a powerful king. His daughter joined the Cult of Set against her father's wishes and became the lover of Thulsa Doom himself. After hearing that Conan and his companions Valeria and Subotai had burgled the Tower of the Serpent, Osric had them brought to his palace where he paid them in precious jewels to go and bring his wayward daughter back to him, believing her to have been bewitched by Doom.
