Richard Enfield was the cousin of Gabriel John Utterson. He was one of the first people to encounter Edward Hyde, when Hyde trampled on a little girl. He also, along with Utterson, witnessed Dr. Henry Jekyll begin to turn into Hyde before quickly escaping, while Enfield and his cousin were visiting the doctor.
