Torquil

Torquil was the keader of a band of escaped criminals - thieves, murderers and the like - encountered by Prince Colwyn en route to see the Emerald Seer. Colwyn, realizing Torquil and his friends were desperate men, attempted to recruit them to join him in his quest to rescue Princess Lyssa from the Beast.

Although Torquil initially refused, Ynyr persuaded him to change his mind after appealing to the fact that he had children and that they would either be killed or enslaved by the Beast. Torquil then immediately vollunteered himself and all of his men, and proved a valuable ally to Colwyn throughout his quest. Of all the thieves who infiltrated the Black Fortress with Colwyn, only Torquil and one other man survived.
