History
The Daily Bugle was a newspaper located in the United States where it was founded in the year 1897. (Amazing Spider-Man: Daily Bugle v1 #1)
Jameson later lost the Bugle due manipulation of the stock market leading to Thomas Fireheart acquiring it leading to him being the new owner of the newspaper. (The Spectacular Spider-Man v1 #156) This led to Jonah holding 40% of the outstanding stock of the public corporation whilst Fireheart had the greater 57% majority. (The Spectacular Spider-Man v1 #171)
Fireheart sold his shares in the Daily Bugle back to J. Jonah Jameson for a dollar thus passing the ownership of the business to its original owner once more. (The Spectacular Spider-Man v1 #171)
Norah Winters was assigned the story about reporting on the disgraced Norman Osborn when she vanished whilst investigating the lead on him being transferred to a secret prison. Ben Urich had Sarah Saulsby look into investigating the links connected to Pier 84 that had ties to several senators. (Osborn v1 #3)
Afterwards, Jameson frantically was looking to retain control of the Bugle when Dexter Bennett was attempting to buy the newspaper. The stress and strain caused Jameson to suffer a heart attack forcing him to be rushed into hospital for surgery. This saw his wife Marla Jameson worry for him at the continued strain from running the Daily Bugle and she used her position as his wife to sell his shares to Bennett who thus acquired control of the newspaper. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #548) Under Bennett, the business was renamed the DB! where he refocused the efforts of the newspaper towards newer stories. Around this time, the DB! came under sabotage by a mysterious masked goblin figure that the publisher referred to as the new Menace with Dexter wanting a picture of this new supervillain. The Green Goblin later attacked the Daily Bugle in an effort to draw out Spider-Man. The Wall-Crawler arrived at the scene providing a distraction to allow Robbie Robertson to evacuate the building after it was discovered that Norman Osborn had brought explosive Tritium intending to destroy the structure. After everyone was evacuated, Spider-Man encased the bomb and himself in webbing to dampen the power of the explosion which left the top offices in ruins but prevented wide scale destruction. Spider-Man then found the Green Goblin impaled on some debris and believed that Norman was going to die only to be shocked to see Osborn reveal his new power as the Red Goblin. After Wilson Fisk became Mayor of New York, Robbie Robertson looked to change the strategy of the Daily Bugle from a defensive take to more active story gathering with him calling a meeting with senior reporters. (Amazing Spider-Man: Daily Bugle v1 #1)
Overview
In the post-digital era, it was noted to had grown smaller and poorer but remained more agile with regards to the news scene. (Amazing Spider-Man: Daily Bugle v1 #1)
A special weekly issue of the newspaper was made called the The Pulse that reported everything on superheroes. It included everything from big stories to social stuff that included analysis with this provided by a super-powered figure in the community. (The Pulse v1 #1)
It had a number of departments that included the Production Department, Administration Department, Media AV Department, Ad Sales Department and the Newsroom. (Amazing Spider-Man: Daily Bugle v1 #1) One of its sub-divisions was the Science Section that was headed by a Science Editor that managed a team of writers and reporters. They had weekly staff meetings with the editor in chief and produced science related content every Saturday to be printed in the Sunday supplement. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #791)

- In Spider-Man: The Animated Series, the Daily Bugle appeared in the setting of the 1990s animated television series.
- In The Avengers: United They Stand, the Daily Bugle briefly appeared in the animated television series in the episode "Comes a Swordsman" where it was a newspaper that Hawkeye was reading about a number of tech thefts in various areas in the country.
- In Ultimate Spider-Man, it was renamed as Daily Bugle Communications and made multiple appearances in the animated television series with it making its first appearance in the episode "Great Power".
- In Spider-Man, the Daily Bugle appeared in the setting of the 2017 animated television series starting from the second season in the "How I Thwipped My Summer Vacation". It was described as a media company that was a top-tier multi-platform news organization headed by J. Jonah Jameson.

- In Spider-Man, the Daily Bugle made its first appearance in the live-action film where it was headed by J. Jonah Jameson. Among the employees was Hoffman who was regularly ignored by his boss and reported to Jameson about the popularity of issues that featured the masked vigilante known as Spider-Man.
- In Spider-Man: Far From Home, the Daily Bugle.com appeared in the live-action film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was headed by J. Jonah Jameson who claimed that Spider-Man was a masked vigilante that was responsible for killing the superhero called Mysterio.

- In Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, the Daily Bugle building appeared as a stage arena in the fighting video game.
- In Marvel's Spider-Man, the Daily Bugle appeared in the setting of the video game. Within this continuity, Mary Jane Watson worked for the Daily Bugle as a reporter and later associate editor whilst Robbie Robertson served as editor-in-chief after J. Jonah Jameson retired to start a podcast. Peter Parker also worked for the Daily Bugle as a photographer before he resigned after Spider-Man was blamed for a killing spree perpetrated by Electro and became Dr. Otto Octavius' research assistant at Octavius Industries. A backpack collectible showed a good luck card given to Peter that referenced other employees which included Betty Brant, Eddie Brock and Glory Grant.
