History
Luna-1 was an artifact discovered originally in the late sixties and retrieved on Earth's moon where it was returned to the planet for study. The item contained various pieces each of which were psi-sensitive and resulted in World War II being fought over the power they possessed. The three active participants fighting for Luna-1 were the Americans, Russians and Germany. By the time of the Cold War, the American and Russian forces had taken Germany's stockpile of artifacts where they used them as a basis through which to develop their PSI programs. Dr. Kimiko Jone's grandfather began his study of the artifacts in a agency that eventually became Mindgate which stored the items in their vault where it was labelled as Luna-1.
The former head of Mindgate known as the General learnt of Luna-1's capabilities and went rogue with numerous PSI-Operatives who formed the Movement. Their intention was to reform the artifact and gain its power thus gaining dominion over non-psionic people of Earth. While this was their group intention, the General had plans to keep the power to himself and not share it which was why he allowed Mindgate operative Jack Scryer to kill each of his lieutenants. While this was going on, the General assaulted Mindgate HQ, stole Luna-1 and used the pyrotechnic abilities of one of his lieutenants to reform Luna-1. There, he excavated the temple at the Himalayas where he used agent Barret's telekinetic powers to realign the Moon with Earth after which he shot the PSI agent in the head.
The General then activated the Monolith, however, Jack Scryer also gained some measure of psychic abilities allowing him to defeat the General who was killed in the resultant miniature black hole. Luna-1 was restored to its previous state at which point a new faction emerged that sought the artifact.
- The origins of Luna-1 was unknown though its origin on the moon suggests possible alien involvement due to its advanced nature and alien looking temple in the Himalayas.
Overview
It was discovered that Luna-1 was incomplete and required a fusion process in order to restore it to its original state which contained numerous rings around the collection of seven blue coloured spheres that were held together. Furthermore, the items worked in conjuction with a mysterious temple in the Himalaya's known as the Monolith which had been created centuries ago at a time when Earth's position with the Moon was quite different. Once the artifact was restored, it required the placement of the Moon to its previous state in order to activate the Monolith whose power had been weakened by the gravitational drift of the Moon. Once activated, beams of energy encompassed the user gifting them with what was described as god-like psionic powers even to one who had no such abilities. However, it was possible for more then one person to gain these abilities and destabilize the Monolith resulting in the creation of a type of miniature black hole that consumed anyone near it after which it disappeared leaving Luna-1 back in its pre-completed state.
