Some time later, Tri-Klops assisted Skeletor and Hordak in a scheme to kidnap the recently returned Princess Adora from the Royal Palace. After capturing Adora, Tri-Klops took her sword and prepared to analyse it, but he and the other evil warriors were defeated by She-Ra soon afterwards, and the sword was reclaimed.

2003 series

Tri-Klops was once a noble swordsman who was blinded by a magic spell, and became the defender of a scientific research center. In this role he used his senses of smell and sound to fight his enemies. Having been given this position by the building's owner, whose life he had saved; when the building came under attack by Keldor, the two began to battle. Keldor tricked Tri-Klops into believing the tower's owner had used the helmet to keep the spell on his sight intact for the sake of using him as his defender, and Tri-Klops helped Keldor overcome the tower. Keldor rewarded Tri-Klops by creating the mechanical visor he would wear to restore his sight, but the visor also secretly served to keep Tri-Klops loyal to Keldor. Tri-Klops later participated in Keldor's attack on the Hall of Widsom, and following his defeat, sounded the retreat. He was imprisoned behind the Mystic Wall for the next twenty years before Kedlor, now transformed into Skeletor, found a way to break free. During this time, Tri-Klops saved the life of Kronis when he attempted to usurp Skeletor, and rebuilt him into "Trap-Jaw" after he was mortally wounded. Tri-Klops went on to serve as Skeletor's main inventor, creating weapons and vehicles to aid in Skeletor's conquest of Eternia from his laboratory in Snake Mountain. One of his most notable inventions was the Doomseekers, which were used to spy on He-Man and the Masters, providing Skeletor with valuable intelligence. Tri-Klops was one of Skeletor's most intelligent warriors, and maintained his loyalty to Skeletor, though on one occasion, he attempted to branch out on his own after Skeletor dismissed his self-replicating Bone Warriors.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation

Tri-Klops was an evil warrior in the service of Skeletor. He participated in Skeletor's final assault on Castle Grayskull and flew a War-Sled into battle until being shot down by Man-At-Arms. Following Skeletor's supposed death, Tri-Klops seized control of the evil warriors and came under the influence of the mysterious Motherboard. Denouncing magic and proclaiming technology as the saviour of Eternia, Tri-Klops amassed a cult of followers and spread Motherboard's influence throughout Eternia. By this point, magic had all but left Eternia and Skeletor and He-Man were thought to be dead, Tri-Klops took advantage of the situation by condemming magic alltogether and became a leader in the cult of Motherboard. Ironically, Tri-Klops used one of the few remaining magic items left on the planet to perform the ritual miracles of Motherboard. During this ceremony, Tri-Klops would catch electronic looking water that sprang from a large altar inside Snake Mountain in a magic goblet and force his followers to drink it. By doing so, they would instantly transform into cyborgs, with various limbs being replaced by mechanical weapons. Trap Jaw and Whiplash both joined Motherboard and received mechanical enhancements. They were also joined by the robotic Blast-Attak.

When the two mercenaries Teela and Andra were hired by an old lady who called herself Majestra to steal the magic goblet, they entered Snake Mountain by breaking through the walls of the trap door beneath Wolf Gate. Teela was surprised to find Snake Mountain filled with much more technology and the halls being patrolled by Tri-Klops' Doomseekers. The two women infiltrated the Motherboard ceremony dressed in pilgrim robes. After watching a pilgrim receive the mechanical blessing, Teela revealed herself, to distract the cultists from Andra as she moved towards the goblet. The skirmish ended with Blast Attak unable to stop himself from exploding, allowing the two warrior women to leave the throne room. The explosion knocked out Whiplash, but Tri-Klops ordered the Doomseekers and even more cultists to go after the women. Despite the loss of the goblet, Tri-Klops continued his quest to destroy as many of the remaining magical items on the planet as possible. Driving a Roton, he travelled to the remnant of a magic fountain where many peasants stood in line to catch a few drops of the remaining magic water. Accompanied by many of his cult followers as well as Trap Jaw driving a vehicle equiped with a large crystal powered cannon, Tri-Klops ordered the destruction of the fountain. Duncan, the former Man-At-Arms, was one of the peasants at the fountain, and began to fight the Motherboard cult. He was soon joined by three more arrivals, Teela, Andra and Evil-Lyn, who used her magic staff to blast Tri-Klops off his vehicle. One of the cultists used electronic cables to grab the heroic warrios, and when Tri-Klops walked up to Evil-Lyn and told her it was time for her to merge with Motherboard, the feral Beast Man arrived out of nowhere, feed the women and grabbed Tri-Klops by the neck. Although Tri-Klops claimed he had no quarrel with Beast Man, the Savage Henchman had sworn to protect Evil-Lyn and told Tri-Klops to leave or be killed. Tri-Klops chose the first option and retreated

When Skeletor returned, he reunited with Tri-Klops and Trap-Jaw at Snake Mountain, blaming them for his recent defeat. When Skeletor attempted to destroy Motherboard, Tri-Klops quickly betrayed him, holding him in place so that he could be infected by Motherboard's nanomachines.

Netflix

Tri-Klops was built by Kronis as a surveillence and retrieval drone. When Beast Man was unable to locate King Randor, who was being granted sanctuary in the sewers, Kronis deployed Tri-Klops to intercept the Sorcerer Tribe protecting him.

Overview

Personality and attributes

Tri-Klops was often a stoic, subdued figure amongst Skeletor's more bumbling henchmen, and sometimes collaborated with Evil-Lyn in schemes of their own. Unlike Evil-Lyn, however, Tri-Klops was loyal to Skeletor and very wary of betraying him.

Powers and abilities

He wears a rotating cyborg visor helmet with three cybernetic eyes fixed to it, each with a special type of vision. In some media this gives him the advantage of seeing in three directions at once, while in others he sees only out of the front eye and rotates his visor depending on which type of vision he requires. One of his eyes possesses night vision while another possesses Distavision, enabling him to see over great distances.

As well as his optical abilities, Tri-Klops is also an expert swordsman, and this skill alone makes him a formidable opponent. He is presented as a skilled hunter and swordsman, and also a handy spy given that his helmet enables him to see all around him and thus be able to spot all attacks from behind.
