Biography
The Asterite was an entity that had existed on Earth for millions of years and was actually the guardian of the ocean as well as the planet. It was the oldest creature on the planet where it resided within an underwater cave and during its long existence it learnt of the existence and true nature of the Vortex. By the modern age, it was known among the older aquatic mammals that lived in the ocean. In the modern age, the Vortex arrived for the harvest that happened every five hundred years. This saw an entire pod being taken captive except for one called Ecco who searched for answers for the storm that took away his pod. Afterwards, he was told to consult a blue whale called Big Blue who in turn directed him to the Asterite who resided in the Arctic. Whilst holding the power to aid Ecco, the Asterite's power had been reduced after losing one of its orbs. To retrieve it, Ecco had to go back in time using a machine built by the ancient Atlanteans. This saw Ecco go back in time to sixty five million years in the past to recover the lost globe and returned back to the Asterite who empowered the dolphin with great powers that were needed to defeat the Vortex along with their queen.
Despite Ecco's power, the Vortex Queen invaded the Earth with her army of drones. Her first act in conquering the planet was shattering the power of Asterite thus depowering Ecco. This led to the entity's globes being sent to the far corners of the ocean leading to Ecco seeking them out to restore Asterite. Once restored, the entity summoned an army of dolphins to help combat the Vortex whilst Ecco himself confronted the queen. With the Vortex Queen destroyed, the Asterite ordered Ecco to travel back to Atlantis and destroy the time machine. However, Ecco simply used it once again and disappeared to an unknown destination and time.

Personality and attributes
In appearance, the Asterite resembled the shape of a DNA stranded with numerous globes that were the source of its power.
Powers and abilities
The power of the entity resided within the globes that made up its body. Any loss of these spheres led to a reduction in the power of the Asterite to the point that even its ability to communicate suffered. At full power, it was able to empower other living beings with great abilities such as allowing aquatic mammals to breath oxygen and use powerful destructive sonars against enemies.
In addition to its power, the Asterite was an incredibly old being with a lifespan that spanned millions of years. As a result, it knew of a great many secrets of the world due to its role as guardian of the planet's oceans. It also had the power to sense the presence of foreign unnatural beings within the ocean. Similarly, it had the ability to communicate with all the inhabitants of Earth's oceans and could do such an act simultaneously.
Its home lay in the Arctic in an underground cave known as the Asterite's Cave.
