Etheria (She-Ra)

Etheria is a planet that features in She-Ra: Princess of Power.

History

Etheria was founded by a group of beings known only as the First Ones. Their living spirits dwell in the Cavern of Fire, located in an underground kingdom, beneath The Crystal Castle.

• Fright Zone : The headquarters of the segment of Evil Horde on Etheria, home to their factory-like base. A large cloud of brownish smog covers the skies above.

• Mystacor : Home to Castaspella and has a forest named Greenvale ruled by King Gruff.
• Whispering Woods : The home of The Great Rebellion. An enchanted forest, protected from the Horde by an incredibly powerful spell that repels all those who harbor evil intentions.
• Kingdom of Brightmoon : a kingdom ruled by Queen Angella, mother of Princess Glimmer. Angella possesses extremely powerful magic, whose potency is more than sufficient to prevent the Horde from attacking her kingdom. Her magic is however tied to the powers of Castle Brightmoon and its Moonstone gem, which themselves are derived from the light of Etheria's triple moons. When the moons are darkened during lunar eclipses, her magic fades to almost nothing, leaving her kingdom vulnerable to attack. Brightmoon was the last Etherian kingdom to fall to the Horde's initial invasion, and the first (and only verified) one to regain its freedom. It is often utilized as a staging base for rebel activities.

• Crystal Castle : The Castle is located at the top of Skydancer Mountain, and is also home to Light Hope. This is She-Ra's retreat, where she seeks advice whenever the Rebellion is in danger.
• Spikeheart : A massive region of stone and mountains ruled by Ahgo, sorcerer king of the Trolls.
• Beast Island : A dangerous jungle island, populated by giant aggressive creatures, and home to the Horde's main prison.
• Devlan : a small village whose inhabitants were terrorised by Hordesmen who kept the people fearful of them.

• In She-Ra: Princess of Power, Etheria featured in the setting of the 1980s animated television series.
• In She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Etheria featured in the setting of the 1980s animated television series. This version was a world rich in magic and one colonised long ago by an ancient race known as the First Ones who created the Runestones to be used by the people of the planet. The First Ones long ago were embroiled in a conflict and needed a weapon for their war. Thus, they sought to utilise Etheria as a weapon and instituted the Heart of Etheria Project. This led to them sending one of their own known as Mara to Etheria where she was assisted by the artificial intelligence Light Hope. Mara initially believed that they were to simply survey the world's magic but in reality the mission was to harmonise the energies of Etheria that was to be done by the Runestone with She-Ra being used as the prime focus for the weapon. This would the be directed at the First Ones enemies and destroy the but the accumulated energy risked destroying the world. Upon learning of this, Mara rebelled and instead sent Etheria into the dimension of Despondos to prevent it from being used by anyone and left her sword behind as she died. Thus, for centuries, Etheria remained the only world in its dimension and was a planet that only had its moons with no stars in the sky. At some point, Hordak fell onto Etheria due to a dimensional tear and became trapped on the planet. He then used his technology to found the Evil Horde with the sole goal of reconnecting with Horde Prime's interstellar empire and looked to conquer Etheria in his master's name.
