History

The Radam were an aggressive extraterrestrial species that inhabited the universe where they developed highly advanced technology and sought to convert other races into servants. At some point prior to United Earth Year of 192, a Radam galactic probe entered into the Sol system through a rift in space where it crashed on a moon of Saturn. Its arrival was detected by the Earth ship Argus that was crewed by the Aiba family and their friends who were on a mission of exploration. After detecting the alien craft, they went to investigate and found it on the moon's surface in an effort to make first contact. The crew managed to enter the craft but came under attack from the engineered organisms within the vessel that placed them all into techno-pods. The Radam vessel had sought to study the humans that were torn apart in an effort to transform them into docile servile Tekkamen. During the transformation, the head of the expedition was rejected by the Tekka System with it expected that he would die from the process. However, he managed to survive and freed his son Takaya Aiba before the brainwashing took hold of him. Takaya was then launched in an escape pod and tasked with defending mankind from the threat of the Radam. The journey would take six months in which time the Radam forces on Saturn's moon came under control of one of the newly transformed humans who became Tekkaman Omega and led their invasion forces. From their Saturn base, the Radam launched an invasion of Earth itself where large swarms of their creatures attacked leading to wide scale devastation on the planet leading to the First Radam War. This saw the creatures commandeer the orbital ring around the world and used its own firepower against the inhabitants below. The people of Earth lacked an effective means at combating the invaders and thus were forced on the defence as the Radam began their plans for Earth. This saw numerous techno-pods descend onto the surface where they took root as bizarre alien plants.

In the aftermath of the battles, humanity came into possession of the alien technology of the Tekka-System. This allowed them to re-transform those who were turned into 'primary bodies' into new Tekkamen. The Radam in this time had discovered the failure of their probe and dispatched a large battle ship to Earth in an effort to conquer it. This brought them into conflict with mankind again as the Radam fleet encountered the United Space Armed Forces outside the solar system in the United Global Year 203.

Overview

In appearance, the true form of the Radam themselves was largely unknown with encounters mostly made with the creatures bred from their technology.

It was said that they were ruthless and showed no mercy.

In terms of technology, the Radam were highly advanced with them possessing the ability to travel across interstellar distances and utilised a form of organic technology. They seemingly bred organisms in mass to serve as part of their military forces. These included large insectoid beasts that came in a variety of forms with one being large crab-like monsters that serve in ground engagement and another winged variant for space combat.

A central aspect of their civilisation was the Tekka-System. Radam technology sought to convert other species into powerful servile warriors known as Tekkamen to serve their masters. Transformation into a Tekkaman involved being engulfed by a techno-pod where a person had their body and mind being transformed. Not all those taken by the pods survived the process and could be rejected by the organism. Typically, those rejected died the moment they were expelled from their pod though those with strong will were able to survive for a short time. If the techno-transformation was interrupted, it was possible to prevent the brainwashing process for the organism inside.
