- Lord of the Rings: c. 5653 BC (III 1409). Arnor is invaded by the forces of the Witch-King of Angmar; Arvaleg I dies. Successful defenses are mounted in Fornost and Tyrn Gorthad. Destruction of the Tower of Amon Sul. (The Return of the King)
- Lord of the Rings: c. 5630 BC (III 1432). Valacar, king of Gondor, dies; the Kin-Strife begins. (The Return of the King)
- Lord of the Rings: c. 5625 BC (III 1437). Osgiliath is attacked and its palantir lost. Eldacar evacuates to Rhovanion, but his son Ornendil is slain; Castamir usurps the throne of Gondor. (The Return of the King)
- Lord of the Rings: c. 5615 BC (III 1447). The Kin-Strife ends as forces loyal to Eldacar, rightful king of Gondor, help him battle the tyrant Castamir. In the Battle of Erui, Castamir is slain by Eldacar, and the rightful king is restored. (The Return of the King)
