History
Etherious (Japanese: ゼレフ書の悪魔 エーテリアス, Hepburn: Ēteriasu) were an artificially created race of demons created from the Books of Zeref. They were born as the result of experiments conducted by the Dark Mage Zeref who created a subspecies of demons made of Ethernano. The intention was breeding a creature powerful enough that would end his own tormented existence. As such, all Etherious had a deeply rooted desire to destroy their creator.
At some point, the Etherious Mard Geer Tartaros came to found the Dark Guild Tartaros that consisted of others of their kind who looked to enact Zeref's will.
Overview
In appearance, the Etherious were a race of demons made completely of Ethernano who came in a wide variety of forms.
All possessed an inborn drive to kill Zeref with this being established on a genetic level but was consciously expressed as a desire to return to their creators side.
Rather than use magic, all Etherious made use of Curse Power (呪力 Juryoku) that was their primary means of magical combat.
They also had the ability to enter into a more powerful state known as their Etherious Form (エーテリアス フォーム Ēteriasu Fōmu). This could see a change in their appearance and them gaining even new abilities.
