History
The Fraternity was the name given to a team of supervillains formed on Earth. A long time ago, the world was overrun by both superheroes and supervillains. Tired of being repeatedly defeated and jailed, the supervillains joined together and staged a revolution. After a long, bloody war, the superheroes were defeated. After the destruction of all the heroes at the hands of all the worlds villains which was a plan formed by the Professor. Using magic and advanced technology, the newly formed Fraternity was able to erase the world's memories of superheroes and supervillains. All that remained were faint, inaccurate memories, which were the cause of superhero comic books and other media. Many of the surviving heroes now believed themselves to be actors who had played superheroes. The Fraternity was formed where they quickly cleaned up the destruction caused by the great battle in 1986 and wiped the minds of everyone on earth making it seem like super heroes never existed except in comic books and T.V shows and the heroes that survived. They then went about forming the Council of Five and rule the world.
The Fox introduces Wesley to Professor Solomon Selzer, a brilliant mad scientist and leader of the North and South American chapter of the Fraternity. The Professor helps Wesley realize his powers by provoking him into shooting the wings off flies. The Professor also explains to Wesley that Fox and his father had once worked for Mr. Rictus, who controlled the Australian chapter of the Fraternity. When Rictus visits the Professor's headquarters, Fox implies that she and the Killer left Rictus' chapter because he had been harming children.

Films
- In Wanted, the Fraternity of Assassins appeared in the loose 2008 live-action film adaptation. The Fraternity of Assassins was an ancient order that was formed in a monastery in the eastern parts of Arabia. Thousands of years ago, a secret code was formed that was not found in traditional tests andit stated that a clan of weavers discovered a mystical language hidden in the fabric of threads woven by a special loom. This group called itself the Fraternity and it hid a binary code which, when decrypted, gives the name of a person that fate has decreed needs to be assassinated. The organization takes upon this task in order to maintain the balance in the world and that they are a group that forges stability in the chaos that surrounds the Human race. As such, the code of the Fraternity is "Kill one and maybe save a thousand." The order gets the encrypted names of its targets from a specific loom known as the "Loom of Fate". The members of the organization possess a special ability which only a few people in the world possess. During stressful moments, their heart beats at an excess of 400 beats per minute which sends abundant amounts of adrenaline into the bloodstream. In this hyperactive state, the assassin is able to see and react faster than a normal Human. A further ability they possess is the power to "curve" bullets which is an instinctive reaction where the user guides the bullet's path around objects in order to hit their target. Sloan portrayed by Morgan Freeman was the leader of the Chicago Fraternity called upon Wesley Gibson to take out Cross, a rogue assassin who has betrayed The Fraternity.
